Equity refers to fairness in education, which represents all irrespective of any differences with the goal of access, participation and progression in education (Parveen & Awan, 2019). The idea of creating an equitable learning space where each student has the ability to learn to the best of their ability comes down to the strategies undertaken by the teacher. This can include the use of teaching strategies, assessment tools and collaborative activities within the classroom.

Inclusivity refers to the intentional, ongoing effort to ensure people with different identities are able to fully participate in all aspects of learning (Tan, 2019). The concept of creating a nurturing, inclusive classroom where all students can learn reflects on the teaching strategies embedded, opportunities granted and thoughtful approaches adopted into the classroom.
