New England

What were the reasons for founding New England? Umm.... People! People that lived in England didn't feel hyped to keep on changing there religion because of the one and only !KING HENRY the EIGHTH! kept on changing his religion. The people of England were upset and were like "Oh no he didn't!" So one reason they moved was to purify the church of England.

ALSO, if people broke the laws then bad things would happen. You would be HUNG if you even broke the smallest, little law! It was a reminder not to disrespect anyone or anything. So, another reason is to make a model colony.

Oh Soil, Oh Soil, Oh Soil!!! New England has the rockiest soil in all the land!

GEOGRPHY!!!

BRRRR!!! New England has long, cold winters. That means that the Pilgrims had to be prepared so they didn't get sick or freeze to death. Sadly, some Pilgrims died from the winters, but New England is still an AWESOME place to have SNOW BALL FIGHTS!!!!!

In New England there are lots of trees that are perfect for selling to earn money. Those LARGE trees are also good for making homes for the happy and healthy!

Many farmers were in New England. They grew crops and raised cattle. They would either keep the crops to eat or sell them. Also, they would cut lumber to make houses and to build ships to SAIL the OCEAN BLUE!!!!

Also, they worked as fishermen to sell what they caught. Whalers would earn money they had a very dangerous job. Sometimes they would have to jump on the whale from tiny canoes and stab it with harpoons until it died and then they would have to open up the insides to for the fat. Most of the people died from this job.

Yummy! Pie was a famous treat in the 1700's.

Stew hot off the grill is a special treat!

Englishmen loved to fish for the best tasting lobster!

Comparing

Why would you want to go to the southern colonies when you can stay right here in the New England colony it's the best one. The southern colonies are so hot and humid and there's Georgia which was a dangerous place to live at the time.

Also, why would you want to go to the Middle Colonies they have Quakers! BOO QUAKERS!
