Comic Panel 1
In this project, the students answer the following question:

" How can the 6th grade students analyze the effect that colonization had in creating inequity and disparity within society?”

Students will be analysists, authors, and speakers ( and potential advocates) for equity/disparity by utilizing the materials from Social Studies to research and the scaffolds from ELA to write their position.

This e-book represents some of the work they have done.
How did colonization affect our society

Comic Panel 2
There is   much inequality in America and in other parts of the world colonization did help grow America but it also  helped grow inequality and disparity and I'm gonna prove it to you .
The black lives matter movement started with a goal they wanted to change white peoples perspectives of other colored people. Now because of our ancestors people think all black people are bad but don't judge a book by its cover. So if you don't know a person don't judge them.
People  from Mexico are trying to come to the USA but instead of letting them in  they are forced to cross the border and children get separated from their parents and locked in cages like some animals. What about the wall that trump almost build. People from Mexico come to give a better life to their children not trying to let them get locked in cages.
To sum up i think we shouldn't not be treating black people or Hispanics  like this . We shouldn't look at their color skin or race to know if their a good person what matters is in inside . We shouldn't let our past define us  Because if we do we might not get better .inequality is a big problem in our society.

The world with Racism and Discrimination
Comic Panel 1
Comic Panel 2
You see a black man and a white man near a bus stop the white man says that the black man cant come in the bus because he is black. ( What will you do).
If that person was you how will you feel? I will feel unequal because the white man is being racis to the black man just because he or she is  black.  We are all the same we make mistakes but we have to learn that being racism is not cool it makes people feel unequal. we need to treat others the same way/nice. Because who knows if you are the next victim and they start talking about your skin color. Although colonization was effective for growth in the United States, it's negative effects are still affecting society in the areas of racism and discrimination.
racism makes your life harder. You could be the next victim just for your skin color. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Said," we are all brothers and sisters, we should treat each other same way we treat our love ones "A man dies when he refuses to stand up for that which is right". Saying nothing, and not  doing anything, can lead the mean person to do what they want if you're not saying anything they will think they could do things that they shouldent be doing.
Discrimination  is the unfair or prejudicial treatment of people. The Europeans  in the country were mostly blind to dignity of indigenous peoples.  Just like the Europeans people will be racism to others. people today aren't that racism back than when Dr.Luther King Jr there was aolt of racism.
The colonization had a great effect on the production of racism and discrimination in the country since Europeans saw other races very differently due to their color, origin and even thoughts, these were some of the negative effects on society. Perhaps you have been a victim of some of these negative effects because they continue to exist and perhaps you cannot stop it but now we can defend ourselves with rights.
