The snow covered the forest in the mountains by a small town. It was an average December night, cloudy, starless, and cold. But it wasn't an average night, a young girl, only ten years old, in a blue nightgown was walking through the woods. She had long red hair hanging over her bare shoulders. She had no underclothes, just her silk blue dressing gown. She was freezing cold, but she didn't care, she came here for a reason, she could not go back, not now. She was in so much pain, emotionally, physically, pain everywhere. There was only one way to escape it, only one way to end it. The girl stood at the edge of the gorge, there was a lake at the bottom. It was frozen over and blue, it was so pretty. And death would be quick. All she had to do, was jump. Standing at the edge of the cliff, the girl looked at the bottom with her dark brown eyes. She wasn't scared. But she was sad…. She looked to the sky and took a deep breath.
“God above, be good to them. Be good to the ones that couldn't love me.”
And she jumped.

The water had turned crimson and the dressing gown had become a fabric trap, constricting her chest as she plunged deeper into the ice cold depths. How far did it go? How long will it take for her to die? When will it stop hurting?

The police, and the girl’s mother ran up the path, following the cold bear footprints. But by the time they got there, they knew it was too late., The young mother looked down at the red hole in the ice. She screamed one desperate word down to the depths. “GLORIA!”

A young twelve year old boy walked by the river bouncing his little green ball. He was a cute child with dark skin and black hair and brown eyes. He stopped….There was something in the water.
