Remembrance day is about giving thanks to people who fought in the war. It is an important day for France, Belgium, and Poland. World war 2 started on September 1, 1939. It ended on September 2, 1945.&nbsp;About 3,800000 people died in world war 2. My Great Uncle, Grandpa, and my other Grandpa fought in world war 2.&nbsp; My Great Uncle and Grandpa got medals for fighting in World War 2. Some people worked in the underground tunnels in Holland because the Germans were invading Holland. Some people helped get supplies(food, water, and weapons). My Grandpa and Opa worked in the underground tunnels. Did you know animals were in the war too? Bears, horses, dogs, cats, and elephants. Some of the animals delivered messages for people.

There is a new kindergarten playground because there are now 3 kindergarten classes and no more Harmony Preschool.

They now added a mini slide.So the new kindergarten playground is where the Harmony preschool playground was.

It has practically not changed since last year.&nbsp; They have new tree stumps to sit on. They extended the playground. They added a little track for them to race each other. They always look like they are having fun now. They also added some more space. They now have lots of shade because all the trees are growing really big. They also ambush the kindergarten assistants by when they come they tackle them and it is pretty funny to watch.Ha HA Ha. If you want to see the kindergartens you can go to the portables and look through the gates.

Did you know that Thanksgiving in Canada officially started in 1879 on the 6th of November? What does your family do for Thanksgiving? Do you have turkey, ham, mash potato or pumpkin pie? Here are some of the most common things people do for Thanksgiving. Many families include the entire family in the food preparation. Traditional foods include&nbsp;turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes, cornbread, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce.&nbsp; 	Some families include breaking the turkey's wishbone as part of their celebration. The wishbone is found attached to the breast meat in the turkey's chest.&nbsp;People also go to Thanksgiving parades in Toronto, Kitchener or Waterloo. Most years, one of the best things about Thanksgiving is spending time with family. Many people live far from family members and travel long distances by car, train, or plane to be with their loved ones. Thanksgiving is often one of the busiest travel days of the year!

Screen free week is you committing not to go on any of your entertainment screens and find other types of entertainment. You may have thought that you couldn't do it but 105 people in our school did it . Here are some of the things that other people did during that week. Some people drew, read, or went outside. You could also play a board game or bake. A lot of people said that this week helped with sleeping and learning. If you wanted to do this again you could do it at home or make your friend do it with you. You also don't have to do it for a whole week you could do it for a day or a few days or if you wanted you could for a few weeks. I think it would be a really good idea to try this at home if you want to sleep better and not be tired at school .

Do the same with the left side. Unfold and fold the other way, both corners. Do it on the bottom as well. Unfold everything and put the point of the triangle down. Fold the flaps on top of the triangle you put down. Fold the corners of the top of the shape down. There should be a line in the middle. Do the same on the bottom. Fold the top of the triangle to the opposite corner. Do it on both sides and the bottom. Tuck the flaps in reverse fold the fold you made. Do the same on the bottom. Fold the outer parts a little bit. Go to the bottom. Fold the points the triangle a tiny bit so it's flat. The cat is done. You can decorate the cat and Christmas tree. For the cat to be in the Christmas tree, cut a hole in the tree in one pocket with no flaps and put the cat in to the tree! WHY ARE RULES&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;IMPORTANT? &nbsp;School rules are important and just rules in general because they keep you safe. Rules are a big part of life. One of the most important rules to me is probably being kind to everyone and to be respectful. We had World Kindness Week this year for the first time that we actually officially did it. World kindness week is about filling others' buckets. On World Kindness week we are kind to each other. We also do not hurt one another. Even though this week from the 13-17 of November , does not mean we can’t be kind every day. It doesn't matter if you’re black or white you can still fill other peoples buckets, and they can still fill yours. This should follow the school rules. That's why I think we should follow the school rules.

One of the most important things for horseback riding is to make sure your horse is healthy and happy. I wrote this article to inform people about caring about horses properly, if you are a new-time horse owner or you just want to learn some new techniques you are in the right spot. 1. &nbsp;Make sure your horse has a good diet &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When you are feeding your horse make sure that it is eating healthy and appropriate foods. Some horses can’t have too much sugar, so grains or even grass are too much for them. You don’t want to overfeed them or under feed them, but you want to give them the right amount that they need. You have to feed your horse with good quality hay and grass and sometimes roughage. 2. Grooming your horse &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Grooming your horse is a very important and simple thing to do. The first thing to do is pick their hooves. To pick the hooves, first you need to make sure your horse is tied up properly, crossties work really well for this. Then, face the back of the horse. Lean into the horse gently and pick up the hoof. It is important to remove any dirt or little rocks and objects that get stuck in their hooves as these can cause injuries.You should also brush your horse with curry comb (the brush with little nubs) to remove any dried up dirt caught in their coat. When you are done with that, use the dandy brush (the brush with soft or hard bristles) to remove hair and dust with a flicking motion. To finish it off, use the finishing brush to make your horse's coat shiny and its face is clean, especially near the ears where the bridle goes.&nbsp;&nbsp; 3. Exercising your horse &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;To exercise your horse by warming it up with lunging is to make sure your horse isn't too full of energy when you ride it. This also keeps your horse healthy. First you need a lunge line and lunge whip. Then attach the lunge line to the horse’s halter and encourage the horse to move forward in a circle. Try not to make physical contact with the horse and leave the rope slack when the horse canters.

Travel To P.E.I- by Grace W. On the last week of summer my family and I went to P.E.I. When we were there,we climbed the oldest lighthouse on the island. Point Prim Lighthouse. Which is the oldest lighthouse on Prince Edward Island. It is cool because it is the only round brick lighthouse in PEI and one of three in Canada. It was designed by the&nbsp; Isaac Smith. Later we saw an indigenous tribe singing and dancing. It was really cool. They handed out CDs that had all of their songs.

Q:What is it like being a split teacher? A:Teaching a blended class has challenges but isn't really much different than teaching a single grade. Figuring out the schedule so each grade can do the work they need to do is tricky. When I get to teach science or a novel study to everyone at once we can have really great conversations and the students see their classmates as peers and not somebody in a different grade. Q:What is your favourite colour? A:I like the jewel tones. Q:What is your favourite food? A:I like anything you can cook on the BBQ. Q:Do you have any pets and if so what kind and name? A:I have two cats,Arrow and Fury and they are Maine Coons. Q:What is your favourite season and why? A:I love fall because of the temperature and the colours.

We have a Christmas origami for you! It's going to be a 2d Christmas tree with a cat inside. We hope you like it! Materials needed: A big square (another one if you are doing the cat), scissors, markers or crayons or pencil crayons, and yourself! THE CHRISTMAS TREE First have a big square then cut it in half then cut one side in half so it is a square. Start with the rectangle, this will be the Christmas tree. First, fold it in half, the folded side should be on the right. Fold right bottom to top left and unfold. Fold the right side to the diagonal line. Do the same on the other side. Unfold everything. Fold first fold on the left side. Fold top right side to line up with the bottom of the fold on the left side. Fold open side on right to center line. Fold in half. It should look like a Christmas tree with a pointed bottom. Fold the pointed bottom up to make it look like a Christmas tree. Take first layer and straighten. Fold in the both flaps in the Christmas tree on the side with folded flaps. We should have 2 pockets on the bottom of the tree. If you don't want a cat in your tree, decorate the tree. THE CAT This cat could also be any animal with pointed ears. Get any color square piece of paper. Fold it in half, unfold and turn so that the fold line is vertical. Fold it in half again, unfold so there are four little squares in the big one. Fold the bottom &amp; top of the square to the center line. Rotate. Fold the short side of the rectangle to the middle line. You should have a small square. Unfold the last fold you did, then rotate, the short sides are on the top &amp; bottom. Fold the right top corner to the middle.

In Grade 5, I took the role of Michael Banks in Mary Poppins, and Kurt VonTrapp in The Sound Of Music. When I auditioned for a show, I was scared at first, but the directors are always very nice and make you feel at home.On the first rehearsal we played get to know you games so that you know everyone in the cast so that you become friends with everyone. Bloom Book Report By Adam I chose Bloom&nbsp; because I liked the cover but when I started reading it I realized that It was a really good book. I think that it’s a great children's book. I was surprised when I found out that it was a series and instantly started on the second book, Hatch. If you like exciting books then you should really like these books. It’s kind of like the pages are written with adrenaline. It’s really fun and&nbsp; hard to stop reading. Orange Shirt Day- By Ava V. Orange shirt day is on September 30th. The first residential school opened in 1831 in Brantford, Ontario. What are residential schools? Residential schools were church-run boarding schools that made you leave your home and you did not have a choice to stay home like we do now . There were approximately 150,000 Metis,Inuit and first nations children sent to residential schools. Sometimes we can feel pressured but we should always know God is with us.

The theater is complicated! Here are some things to know about the space you will be performing in.&nbsp; <ol><li>The dressing rooms: The dressing rooms are used for changing into and out of costumes, putting on stage makeup, and waiting for your next scene.</li><li>Stage right and stage left: The right and left sides of the stage, unseeable by the audience, covered by curtains. This is where you store the props and sets for the scene, costumes for quick costume changes, and backstage people who work the pulleys for big things like props.</li><li>&nbsp;The skrim: The skrim is one of the big things on the pulleys. The scrim is a big cloth attached to a big metal beam that comes down to hide the scene change. Some theaters don't have this.</li><li>Microphones: The microphones are important for projecting your voice. The theater is very big so if you have a solo or a line, everyone will hear you! But you have to be careful. If your mic is on backstage they might hear you!&nbsp;</li></ol> I love musical theater because it is a great experience for someone who likes singing, dancing, and acting. It is great fun and you will make some great friends too! The best part of musical theater is when it all comes together and then you see the final big picture of it all.

- What is the best/worst thing about being a teacher? "The best thing is getting to know the kids. The worst thing is making sure I'm doing the right thing." When and why did you decide to become a teacher? "I love working with kids, and for the longest time I didn't know I wanted to be a teacher. Then my family helped convince me that it was a good idea to try it out and what's the worst that could happen? If I like it I can keep doing it and if I don't I can just stop. I gave it a try and I really like it.” -Is there any advice you always give to your students? "I say we can be kind and loving just like Jesus is and I think that can help them with anything they go do with their friends." -What are some of your hobbies or passions? "I love hanging out with dogs. I don't have a dog myself but I love watching dogs and playing with them. &nbsp; If you had the choice, would you teach in North campus? Yes because it is nice to be with the whole school. Having south campus is a good solution to the fact that we are a growing school. If you had to teach a different grade what would you teach? I would teach grade 4. Why did you choose to teach grade 3? I chose to teach grade 3 because my mom used to teach grade 3 and I knew I wanted to teach primary kids. Eight year olds are awesome! Do you like teaching grade three? Yes I have been teaching grade 3 for 20 years or more. What is your favorite part of teaching grade 3? My favorite part of teaching grade 3 is the age of the students and how they are keen to learn.

Richard: It was the most exciting experience ever. DJ: said he liked the fun facts about the Thompson's private hanger. Q. What did you think of all the planes you saw? A. Richard:&nbsp;It’s cool seeing a plane for me. DJ: They were neat because they can fly even though they weigh a lot. Elisa: The fabric on the replica planes were not what she expected. Q. What was a surprising piece of information? A. DJ: said that the planes had fuel in the top of the wings. Kaylyn: The fuel for different planes were different colours. Grace: That if there was water in fuel it wouldn't burn.

	We visited The Brampton Flight Museum and learned about different planes and uniforms they had in World War 1. We saw life-size replicas of some of the planes they used in the war. We saw models of different aircraft that the pilots used including lots of planes and a zeppelin (a blimp with a metal frame) that the Germans used for bombing. We went to the Brampton Flight Centre for our first field trip of the year. When we got there an employee made a presentation on the basics of flight and the brief history of the Brampton Flight Centre. We got to sit in a plane, the seat had a fluffy exterior. This makes sense because when you’re up in the air it’s very cold. During the tour we learned how they fuel the planes. There are many different colours of fuel. Including: Blue, red, and green. After we went into the museum.

How to Care for Horses Pt. 2

4. Living space &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Giving your horse a good living space is a great way to improve their health. If your horse lives in a stall, make sure to clean it daily and let it out to exercise. If your horse lives outside, make sure it is not too hot or cold for it. If it rains you can give your horse a turnout blanket and if you shelter it in the stable overnight, you can give it a stable blanket.
