Ruïnes d'Empúries
Las Ruïnes d'Empúries son las runas de una ciudad importante en el comercio de la zona, que fue ocupada tanto por los griegos como por los romanos desde el 580 a.C. hasta el siglo V.
Se conservan algunas estatuas y paredes de las antiguas casas y edificios comunitarios, a demás de mosaicos originales y reconstruidos, los cuales se pueden visitar actualmente en St. Martí d'Empúries.

WHERE IS IT?
Empúries està localizada en España, en la región de Cataluña. Más especificamente en Alt Empordà en la Costa Brava, entre el pueblo l'Escala i San Martí d'Empúries.

An ancient Greek and Roman city and colony located on Costa Brava, in Catalonia, Spain.
Empúries is famous for being an important archaeological site that reveals remains of the ancient Greek and Roman colonies that settled there more than 2,500 years ago.
WHEN WAS IT BUILT? GREEKS
The ancient city of Empúries, located on l’Escala, was founded by the Greeks in the 6th century BC. This Greek colony was established by the citizens of Phocis, a state of ancient Greece. The Greeks chose this site to establish a strategic seaport and trading center.
The city of Empúries grew and prospered during the following centuries, establishing itself as an important center of commerce and culture in the region. It was one of the key points of Greek colonization in the western Mediterranean and maintained commercial relations with other cities of the time, such as Rome and Carthage.
ROMANS
During the second century BC, Empúries became a Roman city after its conquest by the troops of the Roman general Cneu Pompey. Under Roman influence, the city experienced a new period of prosperity and became an important administrative and cultural center.

La ciudad estaba rodeada de murallas que protegían al pueblo. En el centro se ubicaba el ágora y solo había una puerta de acceso. La ciudad tenía muchos templos, para Zeus-Serapis, Isis y también para Asclepius.

Empúries is considered the gateway to the Greek and Roman cultures in Catalonia. After all this city became the place of trade between, the Iberia people and Roman and Greek people.
Nowadays is considered a place filled with culture and very visited for tourist people.
WHY IS IMPORTANT ?
Empúries is important for his historical value, its influence as a Greek colony, its cultural diversity, its architectural heritage and its tourist attraction. It is a place that allows us to better understand the history of the Western Mediterranean and appreciate the legacy of ancient civilizations.

La relación entre la libertad y Ampurias está ligada al contexto histórico de cuando los Griegos lo colonizaron, en donde la presencia política, comercial y cultural se puede ver apreciado en diferentes aspectos de la vida cotidiana. La diversidad cultural daba libertad a las personas.

The Bunkers Of Montgó
Submundo de Berlín (Unterwelten)
They are a strategic place where the habitants protected themselves when pirates approached. They are a set of four batteries (bunkers in series) that run from north to south across the Bay of Roses.
They are located on the coastal path that links Torre Montgó with the beach of Riells de l'Escala, in the heart of the Montgrí Natural Park, just above the beach of Bol Roig.
We believe that this monument represents security and peace. It refers to human rights, as everyone deserves security and safety.
