Iceberg

1. It is a deep basin underlying the East Antarctic Ice Sheet. It is located in the vicinity of Shackleton Ice Shelf.
2. In the Aurora Basin, the summers are hot and mostly clear and the winters are very cold, dry, and partly cloudy.
3. Scientists across the world use a common system for naming organisms, this system is known as the binomial nomenclature.
One of the biggest icebergs is the Aurora Subglacial Basin.
Sounding the Past
In February 2014, the researchers steamed along the Sabrina Coast of East Antarctica, picking their way among icebergs, in the icebreaker Nathaniel B. Palmer. A low thud resounded in the air every few seconds – the muffled burst of submerged air guns towed by the ship. The sound waves penetrated as far as 1,500 feet into the seabed before reflecting off internal boundaries in the sediments. Detectors at the surface recorded those echoes.

Polar bears eat fish and seals. Polar bears primarily eat seals. Polar bears often rest silently at a seal's breathing hole in the ice, waiting for a seal in the water to surface. A polar bear may also hunt by swimming beneath the ice. But climate change is making it harder for polar bears to hunt. Without the sea ice, the polar bear must scavenge for other, less nutritious food.

Food and the Animals
Icebergs pose a danger to ships traversing the North Atlantic and the waters around Antarctica. After the Titanic sank near Newfoundland in 1912, the United States and twelve other countries formed the International Ice Patrol to warn ships of icebergs in the North Atlantic. Polar habitats cover the top and bottom of planet Earth at the North and South Poles. The North Pole is surrounded by the Arctic Ocean. There isn’t any land here, just a group of continually.
