CHAPER 1: PARK CASA DE CAMPO
INTRODUCTION.
The origin of the name of the park is this Country House which was established in 1562, when king Felipe Il buys this property expand the Crown's land around the capital. The aspect that it presented then was very different from the current one. The king used this park for hunting and it the park was given to the people of Madrid in 1931 with the Republic. The park is huge, about 1700 hectares, five times bigger than Central Park in New York. That is why it is called the lungs of Madrid.

It currently has an area of more than 1,700 hectares, with those occupied by the Country Club. The current vegetation of the park is made up of spots of different plant formations where the holm oaks, pine pine forests, broom or broom, seminatural meadows, repopulations of conifers and riverside groves close to the troughs where the streams circulate stand out.

The landscape that is perceived from the Country house is one of the most unique that we can contemplate. From the tops of some hills, such as the Garabítas hill or the Canteras hill, almost the entire Park can be seen with its mix of greenish-colored colors; light green in the streams, dark green in the areas dominated by the oak, intense green in the areas with pine trees, straw yellow in the meadows and light-dark teal greens in the areas repopulated with conifers.
