Our profession is - Confectioner. By participating in the Virtual museum night 2022 project, we want to contribute by creating the main dessert of the project, which will be composed of several components. It will contain some spices that are common to all of us, the members of the project, but also some special ones. That is why we, in cooperation with everyone in this project, would create a "Sweet Project Star"

Who are confectioners and what do they do?

Confectioners make a variety of cakes, creams, ice cream, but also many other desserts. They use a variety of foods, such as: milk, cheese, sweet and sour cream, sugar, cocoa, flour, eggs, all kinds of fruits and various spices. Depending on the type of dessert they prepare, the necessary ingredients are processed by sifting, grinding, cutting, grating, chopping, mixing. They do all this by hand or with different machines and appliances. Some foods are thermally processed before being used for a particular dessert. Prepared dough or biscuit mixtures filled with cream, as well as various fillings. Stuffings can be made of cheese, fruit, nuts and more. Confectioners use tools, which are the main ones in their preparation of sweet dishes. Also, from the machines used: hand mixers, nut grinder, planetary mixers, and others. The machines are electrically powered. Cakes are usually decorated with icing, powdered sugar, fruit, but it mostly depends on the dessert they prepare. Glazes and decorations must be in accordance with the filling or ingredients used for certain sweet dishes. Desserts are stacked on trays, served on various plates, shelves, mirrors for display. Desserts are also packed in suitable boxes for transport or transportation. Desserts can also be displayed in various display cases, which are located in catering facilities.
Confectioners pay special attention to personal and work hygiene, clean work environment and most of all, pay attention to the health of the food they use, and finally the sweets they make.
