The world is in ruins. My name is Ago, I’m 16 years old and I’m going to rule the world.

Many years before today there was a terrible nuclear world war which left society devastated and only one patch of land that could be lived on. The nuclear radiation made us less “human” by giving us animal parts and also some people got superpowers, most didn’t get superpowers but still got the animal traits. I’m one of the people who don’t have powers and on top of that I have completely useless wings which don’t even work properly, they haven’t since birth, at least that’s what I’m told. This world doesn’t have many rules because there’s no one there to enforce them. The one rule there is that is ingrained by the government in our brains is that children of age must attend elementary and high school. It was installed a while ago by the government and evolution has just kept it there. I might still be in high school but I have one goal that I’ve been working on for a while and it’s finally time to put my plan into action.

It was installed a while ago by the government and evolution has just kept it there. I might still be in high school but I have one goal that I’ve been working on for a while and it’s finally time to put my plan into action.

Like I mentioned previously, I have to attend high school so that means I’ve made some friends, I hang out with them at school everyday. All of them have powers, really strong ones I don’t know why I stay with them well, actually I do. These “friends” are a huge part of my plan. On the surface we all get along great and they like me well enough but, they still have other friends

Dystopian school that they can rely on. That’s a problem, for this whole plan to work I need them to be completely reliant on me. I need to be the sole person they come to when they have a problem. I need them to hang off of any word I say. You see when I was little my parents were always very distant but, could get very guilty when I would get sad cause they weren’t spending time with me and I realized that whenever I would cry they would spend time with me so, I did it a lot. That sparked my main idea for my plan, I would manipulate my friends into being reliant on me and then use them to take over the world. It’s time to set my plan in action.

One day, the perkiest of my friends, Abele comes over to me and starts saying her usual gibberish, and instead of my usual happy and kind response I said that I really didn’t care what she thought. Throughout the week I did the same thing I did to Abele to my other friends, I shut down conversation and criticized things about them. Eventually they stop coming to me and always looked sad and uncomfortable around me. I said earlier that I was going to put my plan into action and this might not seem like a very good plan but, I’m actually quite a genius see, now that I’ve broken down their trust in their “amazing friend” I can rebuild them up solely reliant on me and then using their powers, I can take control of the world.

I gave them one week to marinate in my little betrayal then I started to talk to them a bit more. It was a slow process and they weren’t very trusting so I gave them an apology.

“I’m so sorry that I hurt you all, I was just having a really hard time. I was struggling and I took that out on on you guys. I’m so sorry. My parents were never really that good to me when I was younger. ”

After that they all ran over to give me a huge hug because all of them are just “so good” ugh that makes me sick. Most of what I said was a lie expect for the parents part. The next day I started the next part of plan. In the morning instead of him coming to me I found my friend Albert and started talking to him, I suggested we hang out but then he tells me that he’s got plans with his other friends. That’s unacceptable so I tell him that it really hurts me when him and my other friends hang out without me. He apologizes profusely but I just walk away with a huff. After school he tells me that he canceled his plans with his other friends so we could hang out. When I got home I went through my checklist.

Step 1 - Guilt them into feeling bad for me, check! A couple weeks later I called Abele, sounding panicky so she asked what was wrong and I told her that her other friends had been making fun of her and that the threatened me to not tell her. She gave me a quick thank you and promptly hung up the phone.
Step 2 - Plant the ideas that their friends were bad, check! A couple months after that I was talking to my third friend Arat and they started talking about something them and their other friend did and I just happened to mention that that friend was totally using them for their powers. They tried to deny it but after everything else I had told my friends about their other friends they trusted me more than their other friends.
Step 3 - Highlight and use their insecurities against them, check!

Eventually all three of my friends came up to me with tears in their eyes, crying because their other friends were so cruel and of course me being me I just told them that they could only trust me to tell them the truth even if that’s not quite true. They explained that I was their only friend and of course I welcomed them with open arms.

A year or two later. My friends have become even more dependant on me so I figured it’s time for the next step of my plan. I invite my friends over to my house and we gossip about how ruined the world is and I suggest that since the world is so bad why don’t we fix it? They all seemed to agree but didn’t know how to do it, lucky for them I’ve had a plan for a while. I explained that if I was the world’s leader then the world be less chaotic and they all agreed.

Over the next few weeks my friends and I plotted how we would go about taking over the world. We decided that Abele would use her mind control powers to influence everyone into the centre square then Arat would use their rock manipulation powers to make a wall to trap the citizens in. Thirdly Albert would use his powers of amplification to bring us to the final part of the plan, I would then give a speech to the public.

Everything was going swimmingly. My friends and I had corralled the public into the square and I now stood in front of them ready to give my big speech.
Addressing the public

“My new people” I said “this world has been in anarchy and chaos for too long but, that time is over now for I am your saviour! I will be enforcing some new rules and it would be in your best interest to follow them.” The crowd started to boo but a few rocks shaking from Arat got them quiet quick.
