I learned that the Boston Massacre was a tragic event that took place on the night of March 5, 1770. First, a British solider was being made fun of by a little boy. Then, a crowd gathered because the solider hit the boy in the back with his musket, British soliders lined up with captian Preston behind the lined up soliders.Finally, the British soliders shot into the crowd,when the smoke cleared three citizens were dead and two more dieing.

The Boston Massacre: How It All Started

One thing I learned is that one night on March 5, 1770 (the night of The Boston Massacre) a British solider stand guard in front of the Customs House.A boy came by, he then started yelling insultes at the British solider. The British solider then hit the boy in the back with his musket, the boy ran away crying.The boy later came back with his freinds,they threw snowballs with broken pieces of ice and octers packed inside and yelled more insultes like "Lousy rascal!" and "Bloody-back!"

The Main Event:

Another thing I learned about the Boston Massacre is... A crowd of civilens gathered, and men ran through the streets yelling, "Town-born turn out!" Captian Preston yelled "Go home!" and "The sentry was just doing his job!" Still more insultes were thrown at the British soliders. A citizen then smashed a golf club on Captian Preston's arm, then a shot rang out.

The firing started. Captian Preston yelled "Stop!Stop!" to the British soilders
but they kept firing into the crowd no one could stop them they eventuely stopped.When the smoke cleared a tragic sight could be seen three citizens were dead and two more on the ground dieing. What a tragic night

The Trial

Eight British soliders (The lined up British soliders)went to court. Only two, Hugh Montgomery, and Mattew Killory were found guilty of manslaughter.They got branded on the thumb then were dismissed from the British army. John Adams(The British soliders lawyer) defended the British soliders becuase he belived everyone deserves a fair trial. (He later became the president of The United States of America.)

After The Boston Massacre

Paul Revere was a man that could work with metals so he made an engraving of the British soliders shooting into the poor crowd of civilizens. Many people were angry at the British when they saw this engraving.
