About the project

Special needs students experience limitation some areas such as problem solving, establishing a cause-effect relationship and make a whole by combining parts. Education of coding is one of methods which is used for skills which are spoken. Even Though teaching coding skills is difficult for special needs students, the skill of coding at the basic level is brought by teaching logic of algorithms.
We are planning to teach coding skills at the basic level by preparing activities of coding for special needs students through this project. Thus, We are planning to teach relating, logic of algorithm skills of solving problems, solving problems by taking to pieces and transfer of life to students.

With the using coding examples help to the students motion, problem solving, at a and placedirection skills improvements, helping them taking responsibility and cooperative learning.

Activities in January
Bear and bees
Students coded without a computer. First they played the game "Bear and Bees". The object of the game is to place arrows in the empty fields and show the bear the way to the jar of honey. Care should be taken to avoid bee fields. After the game, the students solved the cards.

Worksheets
Together, the students painted a picture of the calendar. The task was to take a good look at the number in the square and paint the square with a certain color.

Students cut and glued the penguins into squares according to the color of the hat and the color of the scarf.
Memory game
“Follow the Clues”
Every year on the second Tuesday in February, Safer Internet Day is celebrated. The students talked about the websites they visit most often. They played a board game “Follow the Clues” and a memory game. They painted the picture together "Together for a better internet".

In March, students painted a picture. Each project partner painted a certain part of the picture marked with the teacher's initials.
