Welcome to the world of Czech old games! We have chosen the games that we know from our childhood. We used to play them with our friends and families and many of them are even played today. Some of them are very simple but they bring a lot of fun. Many of them can be played outside - in the parks, playgrounds or school yards. We used to move a lot! And we didn´t need many things - a chalk, a skipping rope, some marbles, some clothes rubber... The only problem was with the translations of the names ....so some of them sound funny:) But that´s just the way it is! Enjoy playing!

This game is very old and is mainly played by girls. It's an outdoor game. What you need is chalk to draw a chart and a pebble to throw. It can be played by an unlimited number of children.

1. All the players sit in circle, except one, who will have the ring and will be in the middle of the circle. 2. The players that aren’t in the middle need to hold their own hands as if they wanted to hide something.&nbsp; 3. The person in the middle has to insert the ring into a player’s hands, in a way that the other players don’t notice it.&nbsp; 4. This person starts placing his/her hands on the hands of the other players and whenever he/she wants, he/she will leave the ring to one of the players. 5. After this person has finished going through all the players in the circle, he/she goes back to the middle 6. Then he/she asks someone: "Anell, anell picapedrell… Qui te el meu anell?" The asked person has to guess which player has the ring.

 All players stand in several rows.  One of the players is chosen to be a wolf: he chases another player- a sheep.  A game leader says „op“ and all the players turn left making new rows.  A“wolf“ still tries to catch a „sheep“

1. Make two teams with the same number of players 2. One player doesn't belong to any team and is the one who holds the scarf. 3. There is a field. In the middle stands the person with the scarf. In the extremes of the field stand the players of the teams. One team on the right and one team on the left. The players must stand on a line. 4. Each player has a number: 1, 2, 3, ... 5. When the player with the scarf shouts a number, the player of every team with that number has to run to the middle of the field, take the scarf and go back to his/her team without being caught by the player of the other team. 6. The player who doesn't succeed is eliminated from the game and his number is assigned to another player. 7. The game finishes when a team has lost all the players.

1. All the players, except one, sit one in front of the other holding their hip strongly. 2. The person who is standing will have to try to pull the first person in the line. The rest of the players will have to try to hold this person. 3. Once the first person is pulled from the line, now there are two players standing and they will have to do the same with the first player of the line, try to pull him/her. 4. The game finishes when there are no more players in the line and they are all standing.

Popular games are born in towns, in the streets and they are the base of the human relations and coexistence. They are witnesses of certain historical moments and certain social traits, such as post-wars and poverty. It's important to keep them alive since they are part of our identity. Playing games allows us to gather together, interact with each other, experience solidarity, friendship, hope..., move our bodies and exercise them and make memories that we'll always carry with us. They also teach us different values, such as learning to lose, encouraging others, cooperation... in a natural and playful way. Playing games, not only recalls our past, but also plants the seed of your future.

The rules are as follows: Two of the players must hold and rotate the rope and the other one by one should be routed to jump. It starts very slowly, with every three or five jumps the speed of rotation increases more and more. The two players who spin the rope must count the jumps of each participant. If one fails to jump the rope at one point, his turn ends and the other follows. So, in the end, who made the most jumps, he wins the game!

Ritinis is often played on a football field. Games last 40 minutes with a half-time interval after 20 minutes. Two teams of seven players each (six strikers and one goal keeper) compete to throw the Rypka, a hard rubber&nbsp;discus, either behind their opponents' back line for 1 point, or in their opponents' goal for 3 points. Players can only throw the discus with their hands, while they can only block the discus with their bats, which are curved and are called Ritmuša. It is common for teams to have five reserve players on hand.

1. We have to organize the chairs to make a circle. 2. Then the person who is in charge of the music plays the song and the players start running around the chairs. 3. When the person responsible of the music wants, he/she stops it, but without any warning. 4. In this moment, the players have to sit down on any chair as fast as possible, the person who can’t sit on a chair (because there aren’t more) is removed from the game and also one chair is taken out. 5. You keep doing this until there is one chair and two people, they will make a final round, and the person who sits in the chair will be the winner.

In old times adult people in Lithuania did not have to play games, as they had to work hard in the fields, to grow domestic animals. Women had to weave linen, to make clothes, to take care of children. They could play them during various festivals (Easter, Christmas, Shrove Tuesday),and weddings.

Catch the ferret.

This you can play outdoors and indoors. The "host" is selected with the help of the counting-out game. The other players stop in a circle next to each other with their face in the middle. Hands folded behind the back. The host holds an object (scarf, shawl, etc.) in his hand and walks around the circle saying, "A ferret has been put in my henhouse." And puts this object in the hands of a player. This one starts beating the neighbor standing on the left or right. The player is beating as long as the host doesn't say, "Catch the ferret." After these words, the beating neighbor, the ferret, runs away, and the player is chasing him around the circle. The host stands up to the place where the player with the object was. The player ferret stands in his place, and the one who chased him becomes the master. Play until you are tired.

Its rules are not complicated. 1.On the pavement there is a drawing of the game with boxes with numbers from 1 to 10. 2.Each of them has a pebble, throwing it on the drawing, trying to make the outlines of the boxes of figures. 3.It starts from number 1, jumps to one foot there, picks the pebble, turns and returns to one leg. 4.Burns if you step on two feet to a digit you have to be with one. 5.The game ends when you manage to throw a pebble at each digit.

Ritinis / Ripka - A Lithuanian sport (with rules explained)

Ritinis&nbsp;is a team sport originating in&nbsp;Lithuania. It is included in the World Lithuanian Games.

1. One player will stand next to a wall and the rest will stand on a line behind this player 7/10 metres far away. 2. The player on the wall will have to recite "UN, DOS, TRES, PICA PARET" facing the wall. 3. While he's doing so, the other players have to run as fast as they can towards him. 4. Once he's finished reciting, he/she will turn around as quickly as possible. The players who are still moving will have to go back to the starting line. The players who are standing still will be able to stay where they are. 5. The game goes on like this until one player gets to the player on the wall, he/she has to touch his/her back and run back to the starting line. 6. The player on the wall has to go after this player. If he/she chases him/her before arriving to the starting line, this one will be the new player on the wall. Otherwise, the player on the wall will be the same as before.

Game rules: 1. Eraser is taken and the two ends are tied together to make a circle. 2. Two children put on their feet the eraser and stretch it. 3. The other child starts jumping in a child-specific way. There are different ways of jumping. 4.The game has several levels. The first level of the game - eraser is stretched on the ankles of the children. The second level – eraser is stretched between the ankles and knees of the children. The third level - eraser is above the knees, at the top of the legs The fourth level - eraser is on the waist of children.

The rules: The children choose a seeker and a place where the seeker stands 1.The seeker stands on the place and counts up to 30 with his eyes closed. The other players are hiding. 2. When the seeker is done counting, he shouts "Ready or not I am starting to look for you" and he begins to search for the hidden. If he notices someone in his hiding place, he shouts "I see you" The hidden player has the right to leave his hiding place and start running towards the place. 3. The last player still hiding is the winner. The player who is discovered first becomes a seeker in the next game

It's a kid's ball game. It is played outdoors. At least three participants are needed for this game and ball. One player is chosen to be the "drunk carrot". The carrot stands in one place and the other two players stand on either side, but farther from it. Then they start to pass the ball. The goal of a carrot is to catch the ball if it succeeds - then the one who threw it becomes a "drunk carrot". If there are more than three willing to play this game, then there may be more than one carrot or more than two who pass the ball. The game is called a drunk carrot because the one who tries to catch the ball is shaking and looks like a drunk man

Many children can participate in this game. One child is chosen who rests on a wall, tree, or other place, closes his eyes and starts counting to a certain number. He is called a seeker. In the meantime, the others have to hide. After the counting is completed, the child opens his eyes and begins to look for the hidden participants. When he finds someone, he has to run to where he stood with his eyes closed, touch the place with his hand and shout aloud the name of the player he found. The last player still hiding is the winner. The player who is discovered first becomes a seeker in the next game.

He stands in the middle and the others form a circle around him. 2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Throw the ball away, trying not to fall into the hands of the drunk carrot. 3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If the drunk carrot catches the ball, it changes its position with the one who threw it. You continue the game until all participants become drunk carrots.

This game was mostly popular with girls, but not many boys played it. It can be played by three or four children. When they are three, they each play for themselves, and when they are four, they play in pairs. Children jump between elasticated two other children in certain pre-defined ways. It is desirable that the eraser be rounder, smaller in diameter, with the knot or elastic band between the legs of one of the children. When the jumping child goes wrong, she burns and the other child starts. The winner is the one who reaches the highest level.

1st&nbsp;Basic&nbsp;School&nbsp;“Vasil&nbsp;Levski” We have selected 5 old games that were played in the 50 - 60 years of the last century. Some of them are still playing now, though rarely. The games we present are outdoor games that have been played over the long summer days in the past.

Traditional sports and games are means to convey values of solidarity, diversity, fair-play,inclusion, and cultural awareness. Moreover, traditional sports and games reflect cultural diversity, and foster mutual understanding and tolerance among communities and nations. However, many traditional games have disappeared and those that survive face imminent disappearance. We as Europeans have a responsibility to revive an interest in these "old-fashioned" games.

This game requires a long rope and at least three players. Two spin the rope and the third jumps. When they make a mistake, they change. If the players are more they can jump in two. The purpose of the game is simple - you have to jump on the rope, but as fast as you can and hold on as much as possible if you want to be first.
