Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918 in Mvezo. He grew up in the village of Qunu with two sisters and a mother. He helped keep the herd of cattle and spent a lot of time in the yard with other boys. The future politician decided to study law. After graduating in 1952, he opened the first office for the black people of the Union of South Africa. He was one of the few winners of the Nobel Peace Prize. Mandela's entire life was devoted to the fight against apartheid - a South African political system that emerged in the late 1940s. He died on December 5, 2013 in Johannesburg.
