Reasons for founding are....
1. The Puritans wanted to purify the church of England. That's how they got their name.

2. The Puritans also wanted to set an example for any other settlers.

3. The Separatists (AKA) Pilgrims, wanted religious freedom while being able to have English resources.

4. They wanted money $$$$$

5. They wanted power for England!

Lumber, Fishing, Ship Building, and Whaling
Geography
The Geography was like....

Climate- Very cold winters, Short growing season, Perfect summer climate, even though their growing season is short, it's perfect for planting.
Land- Rocky coasts, Acres and acres of forest, Rivers, Rocky Soil.
Natural Resources- Lots and lots of sea life, Iron, Coal.
The New England Colonies- The sweet, beautiful breeze. The wonderful farming. There's nothing wrong with it! It's amazing! They've got traditions, they've got educations, they've even made peace with the Natives. Come to New England if you want the paradise of a lifetime!
The Middle Colonies- That's HORRIBLE!!!!! Not only do have to work in the scorching, hot sun, but they had slavery!! That's right! SLAVERY!!! You know, forcing people to work the sweltering heat and usually because of racist reasons!!

The Southern Colonies- It's the perfect place for you! If you feel like being neck deep in deleterious diseases. Also if you feel like being cornered by Spanish troops is the right way to go. Those are just a few reasons why this is a HORRIBLE place to live.

The New England colonies were the most educated and clever. They made several amazing schools that are still honored today. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Stanford. That is the order they were founded in. Harvard, the first, was founded in 1636, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Harvard is a very hard college to get into. They didn't accept any woman until the late 19th century!
