Instead of George Washing losing his whole entire army he decided to retreat Brooklyn Heights but has soon has they stated to retreat most of the Americans were shot dead to the ground. Instead of finishing off George Washington's army, the British decided to do a surprise attack Three days latter. The Americans decided to escape the night of the 29th of August. The Americans did escape silently through the East River to Manhattan. The next morning the British woke up and tried to attack the Americans fort. However, the Americans were gone. The British won the battle and gained access to the important part of New York City.
