The Nine Facts was the least-liked facts in the land of numbers. The Nine Facts, however, wanted to be as popular and as easy to solve as the 10 Facts.

The Nine Facts was smart and he knew he was just one way from being a Perfect Ten, so, they came up with a brilliant plan! In the middle of the night, he snuck into the house of the other number of the math equation and he took away one of their numbers turning himself into the Perfect 10!

Children everywhere quickly learned that solving 9 + 5 is like solving 10 + 14 and soon Robber 9 was loved around the land and celebrated for their cleverness. Since he steals one from the other numbers he became known as Robber 9.... a thief is still a thief, after all.
