Here are some suggestions for Arrowhead kids to show acceptance.

Think before you speak. Always be kind!
Don’t use mean words to describe another person.
Ask others if they need help.
Imagine what words make others feel good inside.
Always believe we are all unique in our own way.

Mr. Connolly has been teaching P.E. for 25 years! He loves teaching P.E.! The sport that he likes teaching the most is balloon volleyball for students in grades K-2 and dune ball for kids in grades 4-6. He said that he loves sports and working with kids. Mr. Connolly said that P.E. is one of the things he’s most passionate about. The sports he played when he was young were baseball and hockey. He loves sports! Some sports that he played when he was younger that he teaches students are volleyball and dune ball. He said the job he wanted to be if he didn’t become a P.E. teacher was an athletic trainer. His idol as a kid was his dad, since his dad supported him in life and taught him about the importance of working hard. Mr. Connolly’s sports idol is Keith Hernandez who played baseball for the New York Mets. Mr. Connolly is a cool guy because he has taught so many kids fun sports. He is an amazing P.E. teacher!

Family Connect Night Fun: That's It Game

We interviewed the unique Vinny Maniscalco, brother of Mikey, Gigi, Bella and Frankie. He is a student in Mr.Rienzi’s class at Arrowhead. He shared that some of his favorite things are the color red and pizza from the pizzeria. He is really looking forward to the Summer Olympics because his favorite sport is basketball. In his spare time, he likes to play video games, such as Roblox and Fortnite. He loves to go swimming and likes to ride his bike. He is very excited about getting his new adaptive bike. Some other fun things we learned about Vinny are that he is a big John Cena fan and his favorite sports team is the Kansas City Chiefs. We had a really great time getting to know Vinny! Next time to you see him in the hallway, say hi or give him a high five.

The game, That’s It, is a game that gives you general knowledge and trivia questions . In order to play the game you need to know how to read. You can buy this game at Walmart, Amazon, and other department stores for $10.00. You may not know every question in the game. But that's ok. The age for playing ranges from 7 years old to adulthood. To play the game, the first player takes a card from the deck and reads the question. The other players can just yell out the answer. If one of the players gets the question correct they get a chip. After all the chips are gone, you count all the player’s chips. The player with the most chips wins. You will continue so each player gets a chance to read a card. All in all, this is a very fun game. Try it on your next Family Connect Night!

Yoga Club

Mets vs. Yankees

Today we had the chance to interview Mrs. Winter, who runs our school Yoga Club. She has been running it for about 3 years. You are in safe hands because she is also a certified yoga teacher and has the help of two 6th grade helpers. This club is very popular because it has 35 students this year.
Mrs. Winter describes yoga as a balance between the mind, emotions, and the body. This is one of the reasons why Mrs. Winter started the club. She noticed kids couldn’t balance their emotions. Another benefit of practicing yoga is a calmer mind, body, and breathing.
She says that practicing yoga helped her find her inner self and connect with her mind and body. It is a time that forces your body to slow down. Yoga is something you can do anywhere and having a yoga mat is just for being on the safe side. You can also do yoga with a partner. Mrs. Winter's favorite pose is half moon pose and the students love giraffe pose.
If a calmer mind and body sounds good to you, you might want to think about joining the Yoga Club at Arrowhead.

Yankees win at Arrowhead!

We surveyed 191 students in grades 4-6 at Arrowhead and asked them who their favorite baseball team was, Mets or Yankees. The results of our survey were 67 votes for the Mets and 124 votes for the Yankees. There are obviously a lot of Yankee fans here at Arrowhead. No matter who you route for, baseball season has officially begun.
The Mets opening day was March 29, 2024. They played against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Mets lost to the Brewers 3-1. These are the players who are anticipated to have a successful season; Jett Williams, Drew Gilbert, Luisangel Acuña, Ryan Clifford, and Christion Scott. We hope they have a great season!
Yankee opening day was on April 5, 2024 against the Toronto Blue Jays The Yankees lost 3-0. Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Gerrit Cole, and Anthony Volpe are the top 4 players on the Yankees. Aaron Judge is the best hitter for the Yankees. They are off to a great start this year!

Field Day

Arrowhead’s 2024 “Field Day” is coming soon! This is a great day where the whole Arrowhead community comes together to participate in fun sporting events. Here is a brief description of what to expect this year.There are many designated areas for events and rest areas. The Hippity Hop is a race between other kids bouncing on a Yoga ball to the cone and back. Next, we have the “Homerun” in which students hit the wiffle ball of the tee and whoever hits the farthest wins. In the Basketball event students have to shoot in a mini hoop and whoever shoots the most wins. The Potato Sack event is where students put their feet in a sac and hop to the cone and back. In the 3-legged race, students have to cooperate and use their teamwork skills. Students use a band to join legs with people together. Then they race from the cone and back. Also, there are many other events like Shoot the ball in the net, Baton racing, Lacrosse, and many more.
Field is a fun day for the Arrowhead community. On field day it is important to practice teamwork and great sportsmanship. Here are some ways you can practice teamwork and sportsmanship on Field Day : 1. Not yelling at fellow teammates
                                   2. Not blaming others if they made a mistake
                                   3. Go at the same pace at the 3-legged race
                                   4: Be kind
                                   5: You are responsible for your own actions

Sephora is a makeup store that sells a lot of different beauty products. You can find a lot of popular brands such as Drunk Elephant Sol de Janeiro, Glow Recipe, Bubble, Rare Beauty, The Ordinary and the Sephora Collection. Some of these items are good for kids, but always ask a grown up of a Sephora associate before purchasing anything. One of the best things about Sephora is they have a lot of product testers. There customers can try out things like skincare, makeup, perfumes to make sure they like it before they buy it. Another great thing about Sephora is that there are a lot more products and a big variety and if you have any questions you can ask one of the experts that works there. Some of our favorite items are Glow Recipe Watermelon Dew Drops, Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Serum, Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser and Glow Recipe Fruit Babies. Some of the products at Sephora are a little pricey, but worth it. You can take your holiday or birthday money or use a Sephora gift card to shop there. We hope you like shopping at Sephora and go there in the future.

Grab 3 popsicle sticks and glue them together to look like a triangle.
Get yellow paint and paint the popsicle sticks front and back.
Get yellow paper and cut a triangle and glue it on the back of the popsicle sticks.
Trace your two hands on yellow paper and cut and glue on the triangle of the chick.
Get orange paper and make legs for your chick and glue on the bottom of the triangle.
Cut a circle out of yellow paper.
Get black paper for the eyes and cut smaller circles and glue the eyes on the head.
Next cut out a beak on orange paper and glue on onto the head.
Glue the head on the body.
You are done.🥰
