The great Race

It was a beautiful day where John the elephant lived. John lived in a house so normal, it blended with the town like a car in traffic.

John saw a group of local animals playing outside, his mom suggested that he should go play with them, for John that’s asking a bull to go play in a china shop.

John immediately got flashbacks of him getting bullied by the big animals when he would go play.

His mom said “Go play with them John, what’s the worst that could happen."

John responded “Mom don’t you remember those animals bullied me when I was little?!”

“John, those look like different animals, they look seem and plus you are a big animal now,” said Johns mom.

John sighed like a dying gasp of a water bottle ,“Fine, I’ll go”, and went to go play.

John anxiously walked outside to where the animals are racing and then asks if he can be apart of the race.

The group of animals stop all at once and laughed like a group of hyenas “HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA”.

The group leader, Tony the tiger walked up to John, shoved him down onto the gravel, and stood over him and said, “You can’t race with us, you’re too slow, we’ll beat you easily, because you are just a fat elephant who can’t race”.

John heartbroken and displeased, got up, and ran home. Once he arrived home crying, he told his mom about what just happened and how he now has no confidence to go out and play. John’s sobbing sounded like a baby , “Ahhhhhhh-Ahhhhhhhh”.

The next morning, John the elephant calls his friend, Stephon the Cheetah, who is as fast as a speeding bullet.

John explained to Stephon about what happened the other day when he tried to go to play.

He told him that the other animals were just like the animals at the school that Stephon and John had went to.

Stephon was shocked “John, those kids seem super mean,” exclaimed Stephon. “You should join the big race this weekend and prove to them that you are faster than them, and i’ll train you”.

John was easily persuaded and agreed and Asked Stephon “What’s my daily routine.”

John was a mix of nervous and eager for tomorrow morning’s training.

John’s timer alarms him with its loud chirping “CHIRP-CHIRP-CHIRP”. John hops out of bed and gets ready for the day’s training. He immediately met up with Stephon and got to training.

John is a dedicated worker so Stephon knows he won’t give up.

The first piece of exercise Stephon had given John was sprints because he wanted to see his level of sprinting. John ran the sprints and came back panting like a dog begging for water, “UH-Uh-AH-UH-Ah."

Stephon for the next couple of days of training gives John a series running workouts to do. Finally, when the day of the race comes, John the elephant was ready for the big race.

John was having second thoughts on if he wanted to race and if he was just going to embarrass himself again, “Stephon, I don’t know about this,” John said nervously.

“You’ll be fine,” said Stephon as he patted John on the back, “now go get them, show them who’s boss!”

John thinks to himself how much respect he will get from tony the tiger if he wins

John jumped in his seat because he is easily scared when he hears the echo of the megaphone shouting “Alright racers, Line up and the race will begin in 5 minutes!”.

John jogs over to the starting line, he looks in the crowd to spot his mom and the Stephon cheering him on.

John gets in his ready position that Stephon taught him, he was stretching his neck left and right when he saw Tony the tiger 3 lanes over to his right. He thought to himself “ oh no”

Tony saw John and Tony then dragged his hand across his neck as if he was saying “your dead elephant meat”.

John got Scared like a rabbit that has heard the howl of a wolf, he immediately remembered Stephon saying “it’s OK to lose John, but it’s not OK to be scared.”

Once he remembered Stephon’s quote, he became much more confident in himself, so confident that he became encouraged to beat Tony the tiger who was as fast as lightning.

The comentator on the megaphone shouted, “ON YOUR MARKS, GET READY, GET SET, GOOO!”

John sprints as fast as he can down the track, he saw Tony the tiger to his right zooming past him, John suddenly noticed that Tony the tiger was running low on stamina and regretted going as fast as he could in the be beginning.

The crowd saw him slow down and saw John pass him they all gasped “ HUHHHHHHHHH”, the supposed tiger that was fast as lightning was losing to a elephant?

John heard his mom and Stephon screaming “GO JOHN, GO” , John ripped through the ribbon at the finish line.

He said to himself “did I win?!” , his question was immediately answered when Stephon ran up to him and yelled “YOU WON”

As they were celebrating Tony hands john the first place trophy and says “Good game John, you have my respect”.

John thought to himself how a week ago he was being bullied by Tony and is now respected by Tony.

John was so thirsty he could drink his weight in water. So John goes back home to eat dinner with his family and Stephon, at dinner John thanks Stephon for training him and introduces him to his family. “Stephon this is my family, family this is Stephon”,

They enjoyed the meal that John’s mom had made. They laughed like a pack of hyenas as they made jokes about each other while they ate.

The next morning John hears a knock on his door he opens it thinking its Stephon, but to his surprise it was Tony asking “Hey I was wondering if you wanted to come play with us?”,

John simply agreed and he walked outside and began to play with Tony and his crew. While they were playing, Tony and his crew apologized about what they did.
