SCIENTIFIC METHOD
QUESTION:
How can you melt an ice cube in a zip lock snack bag at your desk/table the fastest?

RESEARCH:

HYPOTHESIS:
If an ice cube melts due to heat, then I should put the zip lock snack bag at my desk/table in the area where direct sunlight hits so that the process of melting will happen quickly.

EXPERIMENT:
Have 3 zip lock bags with 3 ice cubes inside each bag and place them around the table, bag A is placed where direct sunlight hits, bag B is placed where filtered or only a little sunlight hits the bag and bag C where there is no sunlight. Observe for 5 minutes and check what zip lock bag melts the ice inside the fastest.

SCIENTIFIC METHOD
DATA COLLECTION:
Observe and record the changes that will happen. Put them in a table to have an organized record.

DATA ANALYSIS:
From the data gathered while observing the experiment, the ice inside bag A fully melted at 4 minutes and 10 seconds which is the fastest. The ice inside bag B fully melted at 7 minutes and 23 seconds which is the second one to fully melt. The ice inside bag C fully melted at 9 minutes and 35 seconds which is the last one to fully melt.
CONCLUSION:
The ice inside the zip lock bag placed in the area where direct sunlight hits melted the fastest therefore my hypothesis is correct.

The placement of the zip lock on the desk. Same size of ice cubes. Size of zip lock bag. Amount of ice cube in each bag.

INDEPENDENT
Amount of sunlight given to each zip lock bag.

DEPENDENT
The state of matter of the ice inside the zip lock bag. Speed of the ice cube melting.
CONCLUSION:
The ice inside the zip lock bag placed in the area where direct sunlight hits melted the fastest therefore my hypothesis is correct.
