Sikkim covers an&nbsp;area of 7,096 km². Highly dominated by mountainous terrain, Sikkim gets water from rivers like Teesta and Rangeet. Roughly three-quarters of its perimeter, enfolds the east and the west, incorporating the complete northern borderline.

Sikkim population in 2021 is estimated to be 701 Thousands (7 Lakhs).According to 2011 census, Hinduism is the major religion with 57.76%, followed by Buddhist with 27.39% and Christian with 9.9%. The total population of Hindu is 352,662 and Buddhist are 167,216.

The official languages of the state are&nbsp;English, Nepali, Sikkimese (Bhutia) and Lepcha. Additional official languages include Gurung, Limbu, Magar, Mukhia, Newari, Rai, Sherpa and Tamang for the purpose of preservation of culture and tradition in the state.
