"Don't be a Bully, be a Buddy!" 

The aim of our eTwinning project focused on school bullying is to make teenagers identify the various forms of bullying and attempt to find ways of preventing such verbal, physical and social violence in the future. We also created the project to encourage&nbsp;students and teachers&nbsp;to get more involved in the fight against school bullying, in addition to the yearly national&nbsp;anti-bullying campaign which reminds us that the whole school community plays a role. We are very pleased to disseminate the project and its results through our present e-book.

We made a mind map to define bullying in schools and we also found out that bullying is very common in France and in Turkey : -In France, 700, 000 teenagers suffer at the hands of bullies every year. -In Turkey, 20 percent of teenagers aged 11-15 years are victims of bullying.

BULLYING SITUATIONS can also be discussed in a classroom

You notice one of your friends is teasing and making fun of the younger children in the schoolyard. Your friend has started taking things from them as well. What should you do? 1-Tell an adult what is happening without letting your friend know. 2-Help your friend in taking things from the younger children in case he/she starts to take things from you. 3-Tell your friend that you think that what he/she’s doing is wrong and that they should leave the younger children alone. 4-Something else.

Your teacher keeps calling you ’stupid’ every time you get an answer wrong in class and says that there’s no point in even trying to teach you because you can’t learn. Other children have started calling you names too. What should you do? 1. Go straight to the headmaster and tell him or her what is happening. 2. Start missing class because you don’t like going to school. 3. Ask your parents if you can change class or change school. 4. Something else.

Verbal Bullying : saying unkind things directly to another person.

Physical Bullying : punching, kicking or pushing someone else.

Mental Bullying : making someone embarrassed or under pressure.

Cyber Bullying : saying scary things to someone else on an electronic device.

A group of kids in your class are spreading hurtful rumours about you by sending sms messages around. Many kids now won’t play with you or even speak to you. Even your friends are starting to think they may be true. What should you do? 1. Nothing. No-one will believe you if everyone thinks the rumours are true. 2. Start spreading bad rumours about the other kids. 3. Tell everyone the rumours are unture. 4. Something else .

You’ve been teasing one of your friends because he or she is really bad at reading and writing and you noticed that recently he/she has started to sit alone. Once you noticed tears in the child’s eyes. What should you do? 1-Nothing, he / she was probably just having a bad day and it has nothing to do with you. 2-Stop teasing your friend and ask him / her about why he / she was crying. 3-Tell you friend that you won’t tease him / her in front of anyone anymore but that he / she really is stupid and he / she should get some extra lessons. 4-Something else.

Anti-Bullying Week 2021: One Kind Word

We made a "One Kind Word " Wall to improve the quality of relationships between students. We wanted to promote European values such as tolerance and respect for others.

We distributed Friendship bracelets (white and pink satin ribbons with our slogan) to help everyone feel safe in our schools. 

It is very important to understand all the roles to prevent and respond to bullying.

Bullying is defined as aggressive, repeated behavior by a student towards another student that is unwanted.

A bully is a person who repeatedly bothers someone else verbally, physically and/or physically.

The victim (or target) is a person who is being bullied by someone.

A bystander is a person who watches bullying take place but does nothing about it.

An upstander is a person who watches bullying take place and does something about it.

An "assistant" is a student who laughs at or encourages bullying behavior but is not the actual bully.

We organized a school exhibition with selected drawings of our 3 schools. We chose to draw against bullying because it helps to express feelings we cannot say with words only.

Your friends start calling you names, sending you nasty text messages and forcing you to give them things. You don’t feel good when these things happen. What should you do? 1. Nothing.You must have done something wrong to make your friends act like that. 2. Start calling them names in return and threaten them.. 3. Speak to your parents or teacher and tell them what is happening. 4. Something else.

A new boy in your class is a refugee. Your friends always say racist things to him, make fun of his English and tell him to go back home. What should you do? 1. Join in, he’s not your friend so you don’t have to worry about him. 2. Tell your teacher that your friends are saying racist things to him. 3. Offer to give him English lessons when you’re not playing if your friends to help him fit in. 4. Something else.

STAND UP ! -Help the victim feel safe -Speed up the response by reporting to the right person -You can save lives by telling an adult

SPEAK UP ! -Speak with your parents, a responsible adult or teacher -Write a report to help the senior school administrator to respond quickly -You can ask another witness to accompany you for reporting

We made a logo contest for our eTwinning project about bullying in schools. We selected the best slogan to prevent bullying because friendship is very important for us.

BULLYING SCENARIOS can be used as an anti-bullying aid in a classroom

We shared stories about being bullied. We performed role plays based on actual scenarios we experienced in our schools. The use of scenarios encourage empathy, understanding and help to prevent bullying.
