SHORT STORY ABOUT LOVE

4:30pm. School is over. “It’s gonna be raining tomorrow,” Olivia said.

Loading...

“No, reason, I was just curious about what you think of them,” Olivia responded.

Loading...

“Well, we need to bring an umbrella tomorrow,” Nami said.

Loading...

“Come on, are you done?! It’s time to go home,” Olivia said, wondering what was keeping Nami from leaving school. 

Loading...

Nami took a moment and finally answered, “Well, I think Michael is going to be a good group member because he’s smart and gets really good grades, but I don’t know about Yuji; he’s kind of a goof-off sometimes.”

Loading...

“Don’t you think Michael’s cute?” Olivia asked.

Loading...

“Yeah I’m done, let's go,” Nami said. Nami saw Olivia smile to herself.  “What are you smiling at?” Nami asked. 

Loading...

Nami glanced at her weirdly then said “No he is not my type -_-” 

Loading...

“What do you think of the group that we were assigned to, for the solar system thing?” Olivia said, “You know, Michael and Yuji?”  

Loading...

“Oh oh OK” quickly Olivia turned away quickly to see Michael and Yuji coming toward them down the sidewalk.

Nami shrugged, “I don’t know, they’re OK, I guess.  Why are you asking?”

Loading...

“Hey y’all isn’t it cool that we get to be in this group together?” Yuji excitedly asked 

Loading...

“No, reason, I was just curious about what you think of them,” Olivia responded.

Loading...

Nami took a moment and finally answered, “Well, I think Michael is going to be a good group member because he’s smart and gets really good grades, but I don’t know about Yuji; he’s kind of a goof-off sometimes.”

“Don’t you think Michael’s cute?” Olivia asked.

“Oh oh OK” quickly Olivia turned away quickly to see Michael and Yuji coming toward them down the sidewalk.

“Hey y’all isn’t it cool that we get to be in this group together?” Yuji excitedly asked 

“Well you better do work or I’ll kick your butt” Nami answered.

“Uh… okay..” Yuji responded, surprised by her answer.

Michael followed him up to where the girls were standing. Olivia shouted, “Hey, Michael, how are you doing?  I’m so excited that we get to be in the same group!”

“Um, yeah, cool” Michael muttered looking at the ground. 

“Oh shoot!” Yuji shouted out loud.  

“What?” Michael responded. 

“Really?-_- You are really easy to forget,’’ Michael replied, looking annoyed. 

“Sorry, I gotta run, see you at school tomorrow,” Yuji yelled as he sprinted away.  

Michael kind of died inside as he thought to himself, “Come on Yuji, why did you have to leave me with these two?  How am I gonna ask them for their email, and what should I begin with?”  He tried to look cool as he began,  “Uhh…hey umm… can I have your email?’’ 

 “Why?” Nami asked. 

“I forgot I have practice tonight, no..now my coach is gonna kill me..’’ Yuji answered Michael with a scared face.

“Because I can contact you and you know we could like uhhh…” Michael struggled. 

“Yeah, yeah, I know what you mean,” Nami helped him out, wondering if he was always so awkward. “Here, this is my email and I’ll be the one that takes care of all the materials,” Nami said. 

“Really?-_- You are really easy to forget,’’ Michael replied, looking annoyed. 

“Sorry, I gotta run, see you at school tomorrow,” Yuji yelled as he sprinted away.

“Uh.. okay um.. Are you sure? I mean about money,’’ Michael asked. “ 

“Totally fine, no worries, my family is rich,” Nami answered. 
“Okay.. uh.. oh yeah. Olivia, I totally forgot about you, can I have your email?” Michael asked. 

“Did he just ask me for my email? What is this feeling? Why am I so happy? Wow, he is really cute,” Olivia’s mind raced.

“Uh.. are you okay?” Michael asked. 

“What?” Olivia responded. 

“I said are you okay?” Michael asks again.

“Oh yeah oh uh.., I’m fine and here is my email:),” Olivia gave him her email.

“Thx, well I gotta go, see you at school tomorrow” Michael said. 

5 minutes later Nami and Olivia are on the way home and suddenly Nami asks “Are you okay? You seemed nervous when you were talking to Michael.” 

Olivia didn’t answer, but just kept on walking, smiling.  Nami began to understand.

At school 10:15am in science class “Alright y’all I guess I’ll be a team captain, what do you all think?” Nami asked. 

“Sure, then I’ll be an editor,”  Michael said.

“I’ll do whatever the easiest job is,” Yuji replied.

Olivia rolled her eyes, “Seriously?  Way to be part of the team, Yuji.”

“You’re one of the worst friends I ever had, and I don’t even know that we’re even friends,” Yuji threw at her.  

5 minutes later Nami and Olivia are on the way home and suddenly Nami asks “Are you okay? You seemed nervous when you were talking to Michael.” 

Olivia didn’t answer, but just kept on walking, smiling.  Nami began to understand.

At school 10:15am in science class “Alright y’all I guess I’ll be a team captain, what do you all think?” Nami asked. 

“Sure, then I’ll be an editor,”  Michael said.

“I’ll do whatever the easiest job is,” Yuji replied.

Olivia rolled her eyes, “Seriously?  Way to be part of the team, Yuji.”

“You’re one of the worst friends I ever had, and I don’t even know that we’re even friends,” Yuji threw at her.  

“I never asked to be your friend, anyway,” Olivia spat back.  Grabbing her backpack, and looking at Michael and Nami, said, “I don’t have time for this,” and walked off.

 Michael looked at Yuji “Dude why?” and turned to follow Olivia.

Michael caught up with her infront of school “Wait up!  Hey, I don’t know what went on back there, but I really want you to come back to the group.”

“I don’t want to go back there if Yuji’s there. What’s up with him, anyway?”

Michael sighed, “I don’t know how that happened back there but Yuji is a good guy and that came out of nowhere. That is not like him, I know he hurt your feelings, but please come back; we need you,”

Olivia looked at Michael pointedly, “Do you want me to come back?”

 Michael, “Of course! We’re friends!”

Olivia smiled, “Fine, I guess I’ll go back with you.”

After the project was done, Olivia decided that she was going to tell Michael how she felt about him.

4:15pm, After school on Friday, Olivia told Michael to meet her at the park. She said that need help with something. Michael wondered what it was that she needed help with and decided to go.  

When Michael got there, there was no one else there, only Olivia…
