Poema para Amal Por mares, montañas y desiertos he tenido que cruzar, mis amigos y mi país tuve que dejar atrás. Una nueva vida está ahora por empezar en un lugar al que aprenderé a amar aún más. El miedo de no tener amigos me invade, la soledad no hace más que aterrarme. Tendré que ser valiente y no desagradable, para poder ser feliz y lograr adaptarme. No será fácil cambiar mi vida. Algunas noches añoraré mi hogar, pero el tiempo sanará mi herida, y pronto podré otra vez disfrutar.

Anche dopo tutte queste difficolta, Lei rimane forte e impavida, Lei rimane coraggiosa e tenace. La forza di questa ragazza è inspiegabile.

The fear of the walk The cold in the desert at night, That goes through her every time she travels between mountains and hills. The insecurity and the fear that she feels while she goes through all the people between city and city, The fear of leaving her own country and friends, The need to talk to them and hear their voices. The fear of not being appreciated by the people, And the anguish of not being able to see her own family. This book contains poems written by the secondary students in International School of London. In September 2021, students explored Amal's story and created poetry connected to the themes of Amal's walk. Most of the students in our school speak two or more languages, and therefore they mainly chose to write in their first languages, languages other than English. This anthology contains a selection of poems from all the languages spoken in our school. Enjoy!

Poème Une nouvelle aventure commmence aujourd´hui, La peur de laisser mon pays natal m´envahit, Il est maintenant l´heure de découvrir, Un nouveau monde qui me fera sourire. Le voyage ne sera ni harmonieux, ni court, La mer me jouera énormément de tours, Des montagnes se dresseront devant moi, Des rivieres, des deserts, sans oublier les bois. Après avoir passé cette longue odyssée, Avec périples et de terribles dangers, Je me retrouverai finalement chez moi, Entourée de ceux que j´aime et pleine de joie.

A new adventure starts today, The fear to leave my birth country is surrounding me, It is now time to discover, A new world that will make me smile. Travelling I look back I hope to see a familiar home, familiar house, familiar street. But the only thing I see is foreign homes, foreign houses, foreign streets. I look forward I hope to see a familiar face, familiar smile, a familiar person. But the only thing I see is foreign faces, foreign tears foreign strangers. I look around I no longer dare to hope. I know there is nothing familiar there. I don't know where I'm going. I know I can't stop. I don't know if I'm welcome anywhere. I know the journey must continue. I don't know if this will ever end.
