Library Visits
Students will have a scheduled time to select books that they are interested in! An updated library schedule will be available through your child's classroom teacher or homeroom. Kindergarten and first grade students will choose books from the Primary Library area and students in grades 2-8 will choose books in our Primary and/or Intermediate area. Additional young adult books will be available for students in our upper intermediate grade levels. These are identified by a "YA" label on the binder and are appropriate for students in grades 5 and up.
Digital Citizenship
Throughout the year, students in K-8 will learn about technology device care and responsibilities when working online. Now that everyone has their very own Chromebook, it is essential that they learn to use their equipment correctly and are careful when browsing the Internet.
Help students take ownership of their digital lives.

All students need digital citizenship skills to participate fully in their communities and make smart choices online and in life.

K–12 Digital Citizenship Curriculum:
Addresses top concerns for schools.
Prepares students with critical 21st-century skills.
Supports educators with training and recognition.
Engages the whole community through family outreach.

Digital Tools for Learning

On our Library/STEM page on Bear Creek K-8's website, we post all of the safe digital resources that students in our building may use. There may be additional sites that teachers will use for learning, but all of these tools have been approved by Jeffco Public Schools.

STEM/Maker Space
What is STEM? STEM is the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math into project based and innovative learning! Students in K-5 will have this experience throughout the school year. Middle school students may choose this class as a semester elective.

The Makerspace is a space to "make" and innovate. This year our goal is to expand this area with podcasting and video editing spaces. All students in our building may use this area with their classroom teacher.
