Fractions are when you split things equally. For example, what if youhad a half pie, and it had 4 pieces. Then you could split into a half.
If you cut it in the middle then it would be half. Therefore, you could take two pieces away. Then, you would have 2/4 of the pie, which is equal to 1/2.

Here is another example, if you have a pizza with three pieces, and you eat one... You would have two pieces left, which is 2/3 of the pizza. Loading...
Chefs also use fractions like 1 forth of baking soda or 1 half cup of water.
Now we're going to show you how to write a fraction. Now, let's write 2/5.
You put the lower number (numerator) on the top and the bigger number on the bottom (denominator)
