It's Fall Y'all!

For the first time in 2021,Ogden held a special fall event, It’s Fall Y’all.
The festival, which was held at the back of Ogden, was filled with activities that kids could enjoy, all while they were able to listen to the songs blaring from DJ Pace's speakers.

Not only were rides and activities, once attendees got hungry, they could fill up with some of the food options like hamburgers and hot dogs!

Of course in the true spirit of Ogden, there were plenty of familiar faces. Ogden Staff, PTA Members, and even former students showed up to help make this an event to remember!

Some of the activities were; playing in the game area, hopping in the bouncy house and watching the band play.

Overall, we couldn't have imagined a more exciting event, we can't wait for next year's!

Fall Y'all Continued...

Fall Y'all was about to begin. We walked outside there it was the amazing after school event. Ella and I were shocked.
It looked so good, I could not believe it, I thought I was in the best amusement park ever!
I hoped on over to the mini racers. Not a lot of people were there yet.
So I got first pick! The mini racers were very colorful. There was pink, orange etc. As I flew around the track I smelt the delicious food from afar. Natalie, Roni and I ran on over to the food. There were hotdogs, hamburgers and more!
Ogden's field was packed, when I turned around the line looked a mile long!
We went in the bouncy houses, we went in the Gaga Pit.
Someone then hit the ball at my leg.
I was out, but it was okay because it was fun!
Finally, the announcement we'd all been waiting for came. The winners of the Pumpkin Contest! Win or lose, it was an amazing time.
It was a night I will never forget. Events like these are why I will miss Ogden so much!

PTA Special Events

5th Grade Car Wash

9/29/21
The 5th Grade Car Wash was a way for 5th graders to help the P.T.A. make money for more fun events. Because without money the 5th grade wouldn't be able to have fun, amazing events. For example, it's Fall Y'all is coming up and it's going to cost a lot of money for all the other amazing events. Not only was it a way to raise money it was a way for the 5th grader's to show love to the school that they love so much. The way the Car Wash ran was students were split into stations each station taught students different responsibilities. We would have to go around the whole car and hose it down. The washers were taking sponges and getting soap to clean the cars also they would use squeegee. And the the dryers had towels and would dry it so much that it was sparkling clean. When we were done because we are hard workers next where the snack sellers/the sign holders they sold snacks like water, Pringles etc. The sign holders had signs that 5th graders made and tried to get cars to come to the Car Wash. Overall the event was fun and better then ever and we made a whopping $1,257 dollars! I know thats a lot of money. Thank you to all the 5th graders that helped us with the car wash it was amazing work!

Celebrate Masks!

Mask Day by Shani Halimi

You might be wondering what's the point of mask day? Well on Mask Day we will be doing a mask decorating contest! Each kid will receive one mask and decorate it. But even if you lose what most matters is if you like your design. But that is not all if you guys want teachers to help hang up lots of bulletin boards and you can decide if you would like to hang it up and show off your amazing design on your mask. Or if you prefer you can bring it home and show it to your family!

Mask Day is a day to remember when we were shut at home doing work. Mask Day is also a day to express your true feelings about the Covid 19 if you are sad, happy, or mad about it. It will help kids express their feelings on how the new world is like luckily since kids would show their feeling we have mrs. Corilo to help you when there is trouble on that day. mask day is a day so kids when they are older and the new kids when they first come to school will no longer put masks on and when they celebrate it they will know about history. I don't think I know that the kids in the future will love mask day, and I am sure that the social studies teachers in the future will love it because it will remind them of when they had to wear masks, and how the 5th grade teachers need to move from class to class. This day won't only be for the future kids and teachers only it will also be for the kids now they can learn how it spread and why. This is all for Mask Day. This is a really fun day to stay connected with Ogden kids and teachers!

Kindtober

This is where kindness happens

This year at Ogden Elementary School the Student Council is running an event called Kindtober. It's called Kindtober because it is held in October and it encourages all kids to be kind in life. This year the Student Council handed out a Kindness calendar for Kindtober. On the Kindtober Calendar each day has something nice to do on it, for example one day says to donate clothing or food to someone in need. Another example is to make someone a card or offer to help someone with something. At Ogden Elementary School not only Dr. Anzalone and Mrs. Murray want you to be kind but everyone does! The purpose of Kindtober is to stop bullying and make room for more kindness in the world. The student council committee , Mrs.Hajart and Mrs.Gorelin had worked really hard to make this happen. So lets show them some kindness by doing all the tasks we can!

Ogden Elementary School and the Student Council really wanted all the students to be kind, so to encourage the student body even more they came up with Caught Being Kind. Caught being kind operates by every time a student is caught being kind he or she gets a fish (not a real fish). When the student gets a fish he or she goes to the bulletin board for everyone to know they got caught being kind.

Student Council Elections

We have just had our Student Council elections here at Ogden Elementary School. It was a spectacular time! It was our second assembly but our first as a whole school! Each one of the candidates did an amazing and everyone was a winner, it is so difficult to speak in front of so many people, and everyone was so impressive. Not only were the speeches great, but it was so nice to have everyone back at an assembly, one big happy Ogden family!
