Ryan lived in a Petting zoo so loud that he couldn’t close his eyes for 3 seconds without a goat bleeping like a police siren. Ryan sat in his corner. With his food bowl and water bowl. Waiting for the doors of the petting zoo to open, to watch all the kids run in like there chickens and its feeding time and try to go pet all the goats and bunnies. This time something unexpected happened. One of the kids changed directions and started running towards him. The child's feet crunched over the dry wood chips. He made a large shadow, much larger than what Ryan has ever seen. Ryan had never had a kid come run to him or even be near him. When the kid ran up to Ryan and immediately tried to pet Ryan he panicked and bit the boy right on the hand. He the kid jumped back as fast a mongoose and started bawling. The kid’s mom and petting zoo staff rushed to the boy. The petting zoo staff were getting a band aid for the crying boy. Ryan just sat there pushed up to the wall watching the boy cry. The mom of the boy walked the boy out of the petting zoo. This made Ryan feel sad and upset. He quietly whispered. “Sorry..” He didn't know why he did it. He didn’t mean to.. Did he? All the other bunnies looked at him in a mean way.
Nowadays, Ryan is excluded from everything and no one even goes in that area to reach other animals, he is like dirty dishes, no one wants to do them. The other bunnies call him name like “freak” and “outcast”. The staff workers even treat him like he is in prison.
Ryan sat in his same little corner day after day. He thought this was how he was going to spend the rest of his life, sitting in a corner. It was unusually slow that day outside of the Petting zoo in the Carnival, just outside of Ryan’s corner. The sun in the sky was so dull, it seemed almost bored. Suddenly a pig came running up to his corner. Out of fright Ryan quickly jumped away. The pig then began to dig at the hay they used to cover the ground. He then stopped once he reached the dirt. He then snorted and walked away like a defeated race car driver. Ryan was so confused why he destroyed his corner. He went back to what was left of his corner and noticed a small hole that was bent in the fence. It was just the big enough size to fit through.
He climbed under the fence and quietly walked away from the petting zoo. He starts to run around going from place to place looking at everything the carnival has to offer. At first Ryan saw no animals. “They are in the backstage room,” a small grasshopper told him. “That is where they gather for their biggest show of the year.” He then comes upon the big circus tent the size of 10 elephants. He runs through the doors and quickly hides underneath the bleachers. He watches as all the monkeys and other animals do amazing tricks. He watched the monkeys jump so high it seemed as if they would jump up through the top of the circus tent. His eyes light up with amazement. In his mind he says to himself. “Wow I wish I could do that!!”
Ryan then started trying to imitate the monkeys. He fell down the first few times but finally succeeded. A small crowd of kids started to crowd around him in awe, watching him like a hungry hawk.
