Baby turtle is an egg now. Her mother will use her flippers to cover her with sand.
For two months, Baby Turtle grew inside the egg under the warm sand. She begins to hatch, breaking out of the shell and crawling out.
She circles around. Which way should she go? She sees the shining moon above the ocean and runs toward the bright light of the moon.
Baby Turtle joins the other hatchlings in their race to the water.
Baby Turtle finally reaches the water. A wave catches her and pulls her out into deeper water. She swims the next day and night without stopping. She eats tiny plants and animals, diving into a patch of seaweed to hide. One day when she older, she will return to this same beach to lay her eggs.
