We investigated which materials would provide the best heat insulation by poring hot water into three cups and insulating the cups with tinfoil, cotton wool and bubble wrap.
We measured the temperature of the water at first with a thermometer and then wrapped the cups in the three insulators.
We then measured the temperature every 30 seconds for three minutes to see which cup was the hottest, Therefore evaluating which insulator was proven the best.
How did we make our experiment fair?
We made our experiment fair by: -Pouring the same amount of hot water at the same temperature into each cup. -Using the same measurements of each insulating material: Tinfoil, cotton wool and bubble wrap. -Changed only one factor.
We concluded that the tinfoil and cotton wool were equally adequate heat insulators however the bubble wrap was an inadequate heat insulator.
