MESTIZOS:
Consitute the majority of the Ecuadorian population.
The product of the European, indigeneous and afro cultural meeting, the mestizo cultural values come from Europeans, indigenous people or of Afro- Ecuadorians, but in many cases these values are original.
THE INDIGENOUS:
The most ancient human group of Ecuador.
Then or twelve thousand years,Indigenous culturales conserve characteristic traits, they have assimilated European, afro- descendant and mestizo and Afro- Ecuadorians, at least ten indigenous languages some elements of indigenous identity (rituals, clothing, language, festivities)
AFRICAN- DESCENDANTS:
They have lived in Ecuador since colonial times especially Esmeraldas, Imbabura, Guayas, Carchi and Pichincha.
Cultural traits have been preserved for centuries, poverty and the influence of mass culture.
THE POPULAR FOOD OF EACH REGION
COAST:
For many coastal people, the encebollado is the most popular dish of the coast, it consists of a broth made from fish (preferably albacore) with yucca, tomato, onion, peppers, lemon and herbs.
SIERRA:
Cuy, consists of cooked potatoes, pork lard, garlic cloves, chopped white onion, onion, coriander, salt, cumin and pepper.
AMAZONIA:
Ayampaco, consists of banana leaves, greens, fish, eggs, onion, tomato, pepper, salt, cumin and bell pepper.
POPULAR FESTIVALS:
COSTA:
San Pedro y San Pablo, this Catholic holiday has its origins in the Spanish colonization. According to informants, the event has been held for more than sixty years and with greater intensity since 1981. 
SIERRA:
Inti Raymi, andean ceremony celebrated in honor of Inti, which takes place every winter, for the goodness of having allowed a good production and harvest of traditional products.
AMAZON:
Chonta, is composed of praises for the harvest and is performed at the foot of the Samikim waterfall, famous for its 60 meters high and its fantastic natural well of crystalline waters, a place where the energy of Arutam is present.
POPULART ART
COAST:
Craftsmanship in sandstone, is extracted from the rivers of Olon, these crafts are made in the homes of artisans, where they are found in different varieties and sizes. You can also find crafts made from Spondylus shell.
Sierra region:
The Pottery, artisans work with clay and febricaron a lot of utensils that in their time became portable liquids, created various designs of pots and jars.
AMAZON REGION:
Waorani Handicrafts, are made by the women of the community, the most used materials are the chonta, with which they make knives, spears and blowguns.
RELIGION
The coast: shows that 91.95% of the population claims to have a religion, of which 80.4% belong to the Catholic religion, 11.3% Evangelical, 1.29% Jehovah's Witnesses and the remaining 6.96% belong to other religions.
In the highlands region: Christianity is the majority religion, it is also the most influential religion with 90.30% of the population.

In the Amazon region: Christianity is the most influential, but indigenous tribes also retain local beliefs.
