The Southern Colonies
Economy
This is Indigo
The economy in the south is booming. There are many opportunities to make money. You can cut down trees for lumber in Northern Georgia. In Virginia and North Carolina you can farm Tobacco and Indigo; they are their region's cash crops.

Geography
The geography down here is really beautiful. We have dense forests full of lumber. The South also has flatlands great for farming! We have shorter winters than the Northeast. That's great because you can grow your crops almost year round. The winters don't get too cold in the South, and that is good so that you don't die from frostbite. Our Southern Colonies are also costal and unlike in the New England colonies, the water is nice and warm most of the year.
Reasons for Founding
Unlike the New England colonies, the Southern colonies were founded for non-religious reasons. Georgia was founded to give debtors a chance to pay off their debts. It was also a place that had great soil to grow crops full time unlike the new England colonies where you could only grow your crops part time. Virginia and North Carolina were great for growing Tobacco, a cash crop!
Population
Looking for some land to spread out? Or some peace and quiet? Look no further than the Southern Colonies. Where the North is densely packed, the Southern Colonies are less populated. There is also more room for your livestock here and you don't have to worry about other people's animals coming and destroying your crops.
