How to use the Bee-bot in schools?
I think the Bee-bot would be a great asset in the classroom for a number of curriculum subjects. Including:
-Maths -Literacy -Art
-Geography -Irish
Thought Bubble
Maths:
Play Mats
-Every play mat is gridded into squares.
-This is easily counted!
During early years the Bee-Bot can be used for calculating steps through directions on the different play maps.
-To make children more interested teacher's might let them create their own maps.
-Possibly of their local area or of imagination.
-This way the children have a connection.
Art:
The Bee-Bot can help in math with problem solving skills, directional movement and shapes.
Irish:
We can use Irish by explaining the Bee-Bots journey in Irish.
As the Bee-Bot moves along the play mat at each stop you can discuss the locations in Irish.
For older children, they could write a story in Irish on the Bee-Bots journey.
