EARTH SYSTEMS AND THE HYDROSPHERE

The Earth can be divided into the lithosphere (geosphere) , hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere: these elements are only together on our planet. The sun provides energy for the exchanges between these spheres. Water occupies than 70% of the Earth's surface:in a solid state (glaciers),liquid (oceans)and gas (aqueous vapor);only 3% of this water is fresh water. Saltwater forms oceans and seas; fresh waters are continental and these include rivers,lakes,glaciers and aquifers.
