1. The Ancient Myth of Erysichton
Erysichton was an ancient king in Thessaly, Greeece. He was greedy, cruel and disrespectful towards his people and towards the gods. Erysichton once decided he wanted a new bigger and more luxurious palace and for that reason he ordered his people to cut down all the trees from the nearby forest so he could build his palace there.
The people begged King Erysischton not to destroy the forests.
For ancient Greeks, trees were sacred and they believed that inside trees devine creatures lived.
That's why they didn't cut trees unless it was necessary. They also protected forests because they provided them with food and other products.

But Erisychton didn't care about the people who needed and loved the forests and knew how precious for their life was.
Nor did he care about the animals, the birds or the trees that would die.
So he cut every single tree, even the oldest and most sacred tree in the wood!
