Eucalyptus and Laurel get ready for secondary school
On Friday 10th and 17th March, our year 6 classes were lucky enough to take part in a workshop led by the Paradigm Project to help them prepare for secondary school. As well as enjoying lots of fun games to inspire great teamwork, the children also learned more about what to expect when they head off to secondary school in September. A huge thank you to the Paradigm Project leaders for taking the session and building our confidence.
University Visit
Last week, our Year 6 pupils had an exciting journey to Kings College University as part of their Scholar’s Programme. Our aspiring graduates had a glimpse of what life is like as a university student. During the visit, they had the opportunity to explore the university campus, its state-of-the-art facilities and meet current students and professors.
They also had the chance to ask current students about the key skills required to thrive in a university environment, such as critical thinking, time management and effective communication. Overall, the trip was an eye-opening experience for the Year 6 pupils and will prepare them for their future academic endeavours with The Scholars Programme, which will see them eventually complete a 1500 word, university-like, essay. Good luck to our future scholars!
Easter Menu
On Wednesday 29th March, Upton Cross will be having an Easter extravaganza meal.
