To all our families who celebrate, we hope you had a lovely day on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birthday.
Junior Citizen visit
On Monday 7th November, Year 6 attended The Junior Citizens workshop. This valuable life skills workshop, which was led by professionals, provided simulations of what to do in a number of emergencies, such as in a fire or when in deep water. In preparation for Year 7, our Year 6’s were also informed by a TFL worker of how to apply for a Zip Oyster Card for travel and how to use the trains and buses safely by British Transport Police. The workshop was enjoyed by all and will certainly support the children when they progress into their next stage of education.
Anti-Bullying Week 2022 (Monday 14th – Friday 18th November) has the theme ‘Reach out’ this year. The week will begin with Odd Socks Day which will take place on the first day of Anti Bullying Week, Monday 14th November, to help raise awareness for Anti-Bullying Week. During assemblies and PSHE lessons next week, our children will learn about the importance of using kind words and what to do if they see bullying.
Children (and staff!) are encouraged to get involved and wear the wackiest socks they can find at home and wear them to school on Monday!
On Tuesday 8th November, our debating society had an incredibly exciting visit to The Houses of Parliament. The day consisted of a private tour of The House of Commons and The House of Lords, with a deep insight into the purpose of both rooms. The children also learnt of many interesting facts about our monarch and even got to see where King Charles III sits when reading out the country’s new laws! The day finished with a debating workshop in which children learnt of valuable debating skills, such as listening and speaking confidently to an audience. This resulted in our debaters coming up with a new law to ban homework for all children…Orderrrr!
We will be hosting our Coffee Morning once again for the Autumn 2 Term, please come and join us!
