Year 5 swimming
Our Year 5 pupils have enjoyed their swimming lessons at the Olympic pool in Stratford over the past two weeks. The Olympic pool provides world class facilities for pupils to develop their swimming skills. The provision at the pool has been excellent with each class having 3 specialist swimming teachers catering for the needs of all swimming abilities.
Pupils have developed skills such as:
- Use a range of strokes effectively, for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke,
- Performing  safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
- Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres.

Learning in Ivy class
For the Healthy Eating and Healthy Lifestyle topic, we are learning to explore different types of food. We spent time exploring different food groups and even practised cutting & tasting them.
In Ivy, we also use a story box to explore new stories. We role-played Golodilocks and The Three Bears to our peers in Fig class. We had lots of fun watching Fig class role-play too.
