Book Fair Results
Upton Cross Loves to Read!
This term, the Book Fair was a monumental success with our students raising a grand total of £634.29! The money raised will be invested back into our school, by buying brand new and exciting books for our class libraries. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to sharing more exciting books with you, in our Spring book fair.
Stratford Theatre Visit
Last week, our Year 6 pupils shared a fantastic experience at the Stratford Theatre for the performance of ‘The trial of Josie K’. It is fair to say that the children were absolutely captivated by the performance. The story was compelling and thought-provoking with Josie K’s life pressures impacting her mental health, but importantly she finds support through friendship. This is a strong message that can relate to many. Our children were left inspired by the performance and will remember it for years to come.
Topical Talk
Our objective this week in Topical Talk was to understand the reputation of nuclear power, by exploring its cultural and historical context. We discovered that the best opinions are informed opinions - that are based on reality rather than reputation alone. We debated whether nuclear power should be used more in the future but have not reached a unanimous decision. What do you think? Please share your thoughts with us.
