Thought Bubble
Early Years Nativity
On Thursday 15th December, we will be showcasing our Early Year’s Nativity.

Both Nursery and Reception will be performing a version of the Nativity at 10am and 2pm. You are entitled to 2 tickets per child and you can either have one for each performance or two for one performance. These will be available from your child’s class teacher from Monday 21st November.

We would really like your help because over the next few weeks children will be coming home with lines and songs to practise.

If any parents are creative and would like to support us with costumes, props or sets then please let your child’s class teacher know.

We can’t wait to see you all there!
money wise challenge
Over 400 pupils from 40 schools met on Tuesday evening at the West Ham Stadium to take part in a Money Wise Competition. In front of the Mayor of Newham, the Mayor of Hackney and cabinet members, our pupils battled against other Newham schools in several online, real-life money challenges. Our representatives from Year 6 from our Kirton Road and Churston Avenue sites made us really proud, they demonstrated great computational thinking, teamwork and money skills.

Although we didn’t win, both our teams scored over 3500 points and each received a commemorative pin badge for taking part.

Look out for the Money Wise game being released on our Computing Google Classroom soon to see if you can beat our scores!
Online Safety
To mark Anti Bullying Week, we are sharing 10 top tips to be kind online. Click on the link here. Please talk and share with your children, how can we be kind to each other online?
Who can we talk to if someone is being unkind to us online?

Remember to share your ideas with the teachers!
Remembrance Day
At Upton Cross, we have been learning about Remembrance Day and the importance of commemorating this significant day. This week we have all created our very own poppies to wear as a mark of respect to those who died during the war.
This week, our school councillors delivered a special assembly which outlined what remembrance day is all about. As a school, we observed the two minutes’ silence at 11am to remember and honour those who lost their lives.
Coffee Morning
Our next Autumn 2 Coffee Morning will be at our Kirton Road site on Wednesday 23rd November 2022. Come along and join us for a hot drink and a biscuit or two!
