USHERING IN A NEW BEGINNING

The Reopening Day Programme commenced on Wednesday,1 June 2022, at 9:30 am with the Lighting of the Lamp by the dignitaries. The school choir led the students in the School Anthem. The welcome address was delivered by the Principal, Ms Suma Paul. The student representatives of the various sections invoked the bounteous blessings of the Almighty with the Bible reading and the intercessory prayers. The induction of the New Teachers and the symbolic offertory by the students were held and our Director Very Rev.Fr. Jacob Baiju Ben and our Administrator Rev Dr. George Mathirapilly gave the blessings and offered prayers for the new beginning. It was followed by the unveiling of the “Theme Presentation”. Ms. Nisha Prayan proposed the Vote of Thanks expressing gratitude to each and every one of the Assisi Fraternity. The programme came to an end with the National Anthem. Our Principal Ms. Suma Paul gave the general instructions to the students.

GREENER MOTHER EARTH

The theme for World Environment Day, 2022 is - ‘Only One Earth’. This special day is observed to highlight the need to live sustainably in harmony with nature by incorporating transformative changes in our policies with choices toward cleaner and greener lifestyles. Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School celebrated Environment Day on 6 June 2022, with great fervour. The day started off with a special assembly, followed by a speech on the theme – ‘ONLY ONE EARTH’ by Aarya Fatema Asad. Naadan Paatu was sung in tribute to Mother Earth by the students of class VIII. Next, the school Principal, Ms. Suma Paul delivered a message to highlight the importance of the theme of this year. The Director, Very Reverend Father, Jacob Baiju Ben planted a sapling in the school campus as a part of the World Environment Day celebration. A host of activities were organized for the students – Nature Walk was organized for classes II & III. A Vertical Garden was set up; an initiative taken up by the students of classes V, VI & VII. Poster making on the same theme was held for the students of classes IV, IX, X & XII. The celebrations came to an end with everyone pledging to take the initiative of saving the environment and doing their bit for a cleaner and greener Mother Earth.
