Dear Parents and Students,

The Tatas and Wipros would have topped the charts of India’s top 5 billionaires had they not indulged in charity. The name Tata is synonymous with India. Whether it is the founder JRD Tata or the one in the family lineage Ratna Tata, they always adhere to their philanthropic pedigree. Their exemplary acts of charity are unpublicised. The business tycoon Mr. Azim Premji, heads one of the most successful conglomerates in the country under the umbrella term Wipro. He also follows on the lines of Tata and believes in not letting your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be done in secret. Let these great philanthropists inspire our students to give back to society. Our Community Outreach programmes have this aim in mind. Our Interschool programme Kairos 2023 was a huge success both in terms of participation and gratification. The various classes vied with one another in putting up amazing and innovative programmes during the class assembly as part of the various days of observance.

Ryan Nimrodh Rabin and many other students won laurels in the Arts, Literary and Sports arenas. They once again proved that with dedication, hardwork and perseverance everything is surmountable. Congrats dear students!

CATAPULTED TO THE LIMELIGHT!

Ryan Nimrodh Rabin, a student of class VII A, was on cloud 9 when he received the call from Rashtrapati Bhavan inviting him and his parents to meet the Honourable President of India, her Excellency, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. He, along with his parents, Mr. Rabin Kumar O.R and Mrs. Siviya Xavier visited the President on Wednesday, 30 August 2023 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. During the personal meeting with the President, he could gift the President her portrait which he had drawn. Every year the President’s Office selects talented students from pan India to meet the President. Ryan was one among the 22 students from the country and the only one from Kerala to receive the invitation. Ryan used to keenly observe nature and started sketching scenic beauty at the young age of 3 years using Crayon Pencils. Ryan honed his drawing skills further during the pandemic. His parents seeing his talent gifted him with drawing books. Ryan observed the drawing styles of great artists from their YouTube channels and made his strokes perfect. Ryan had developed an affection towards the President after he read her autobiography. He was attracted by the fact that she loved children and was a teacher by profession. Without a second thought, he decided to draw her portrait and present the same to her. He shared the same by post and was fortunate to get the invitation to visit the President and gift the same. On the red-letter day, he met the President and talked to her. She was fascinated that at this young age, he had carved a niche for himself among elite artists. She wished him great success in future and blessed him that he would reach great heights in life.

KAIROS 2023

Music and Art are the universal languages of mankind and our School organised a cultural fiesta, Kairos, a platform for showcasing the unique talents of the budding stars of tomorrow. The program was set up to commemorate the memory of the school founder Rev Dr. Francis Kannikal. Nearly 250 students from various CBSE schools took part in this prestigious event and The Delta Study School, Fort Kochi, were proclaimed the Winners. The Runners up was shared by Bhavan’s Munshi, Thiruvankulam and Najath Public School, Kalamassery. The competitions were conducted in 6 categories – Crayola, for the Nursery students, Flair for classes I and II and Fathom, a puppet show for classes III and IV. For classes V to VI Meraki (Dance), Harmony and Artica for the High school students highlighted the talents in the young students. Competitions like Truce and Enigma were much appreciated by the audience. More than a competition Kairos was an ultimate culmination of Art and Music. Kairos 2023’s vision was to bring out and encourage the versatile capabilities in the blooming talents of the future.

BATTLE OF WITS

The Seniors Spelling Bee Competition was conducted on Tuesday 5 September 2023. It was an Inter House competition for students from classes VIII to XII. The competition was conducted by the students themselves with Mihit Krishankumar as the Moderator, Devi Sreekanth Pillai and Abin Vinoy as the Emcees. The Competition had four rounds namely: The Spell Round, Palindrome, Picture Round and Jumble Words. The students had an enthralling and exciting experience in solving the rounds and competing with true sportsmanship. At the end of all four rounds, Red House bagged the first prize followed by Blue House and Green House as the Second and Third runners up respectively.
