My husband heard about the shots fired at Fort Sumpter and was outraged. My husband, John, wanted to immedietly join, but I wouldnt be able to take care of our farm all by myself.
I want to talk him out of it but he was so upset, I want to be supportive, but we cant
I tell him that I cant afford to work the farm alone, so we hire a farm girl to help out

My husband left home, Im nervous about working the farm without him, even with the hired farm girl.
we agreed to pay her $1.25 a day plus room and board
After the first day, things were going smoothly, I think the farm will be ok
