REASONS FOR FOUNDING

New England Colonies were founded by Pilgrims and Puritans. Pilgrims came in 1620 to separate from the church of England and founded the Plymouth colony. Puritans left England to America in 1629 to escape religious persecution and reform the Church of England and establish a strict religious government. They formed the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

HARVARD

Come to Harvard, the "New College"! It is the best school in the continent! it is the first college in the Colonies, just founded in 1636. It is named after English minister John Harvard, its first benefactor.
