Day 1 - Monday 4th April

On Monday morning we went to the Turkish school, all the students were in the conference room with the teachers and the principal of the school was there too, then we shared gifts from each country with the Turkish teachers and students.
Then, they showed us their school. It is a school only for girls, it is huge ! The school has beautiful rooms, decorated depending on the subjects. They have a big garden, and the most surprising thing was that they have a cat living in the garden ! That's so cool !

Afterwards we played a game to learn more about each other. It is called "The M&M’s game". It is a very fun way for communıcatıon. We made teams and then with colorful M&M’s we learned about our new international frıends. For example, if a student chooses a red M&M’s, he must tell the others about his favourite hobbies. I think it was a fantastic game, we got closer with the other students and I really liked it.

Then, every student of each country presented their traditions and customs.
We started with the Greeks. They presented one of their legends, entitled ‘The abduction of Persephone’. They also talked about some of their festivals. Then the French students presented some meals that they have in France and some of their traditions like the “Galette des rois”. The Spanish team presented some traditions like the "Castellers" : it’s a human tower and it looks very dangerous. The Estonians talked about "Jaanipaev", it’s on the longest day of the year and they make fire. Finally, the turkish team presented us their customs with the "Turkish coffee" and the "Helva".
It was really great to learn about their cultures !

On Tuesday morning, we had to prepare some commercial videos to explain a tradition from each country. Everyboyd worked so hard on the videos but honestly, the Spanish one was the BEST and the funniest ! They did a really good job editing some photos on the commercial. And obviously, they were the winners. They won some presents as well, such as magnets and door ornaments from each country.

Surely one of the oldest piggy bank ever found ;-)
After we watched the videos - around 11 a.m- we started our Ankara tour. We took a bus to travel around the city. First, we went to a museum called “Anadolu Medeniyetleri Müzesi” which means “Museum of Anatolian Civilizations”. We saw many historical things, like objects, jewels and pottery. It was great to see the things that people left before us. It felt like time travelling !
