Week 1 Session 4: Focus Subitising

We looked at larger quantities of objects to see if we could spot smaller groups of 1s, 2s or 3s. 

Week 1 Session 3: Focus Subitising

We talked about which fingers are the easiest to put up. We worked with our partners to represent different numbers on our fingers. 

We explored the different ways to make numbers 1, 2 and 3 using our fingers.

We dropped a large collection of small objects into a tray. We chose a subitising card for 1, 2, 3 and we found where the objects have fallen in 1s, 2s or 3s.

We used our fingers to show what we could see and talked about it with our friends. 

We played 'Is it 2?' firstly as a whole class and then in small groups. We subitised and used our fingers to show our responses.

We talked about what parts were the same and what was different.

Henry and Heidi "There are 3 blocks!"

Children used counters and a square frame to explore different spatial arrangements for 3 dots firstly in partners during the whole class input and then during the continuous provision.

When 1 and 2 jump together they make 3.&#160; Ethan
