Here we are at our bus stop waiting for the bus. We even created our own bus timetable and then decided we needed a number for the front of the bus so that we knew which bus to get on.

We also created a class piece based on the Liverpool skyline. We used both black paper and pencil drawings to create this. Can you spot any buildings that you recognise? We also created some Superlambananas!

This half term we have been reading the story the 'Naughty Bus'. The London toy bus gets up to lots of mischief. We created a class story map and our own story maps to retell the story.

We have been learning all about Crosby Beach. We know that at Crosby beach there is sinking sand so it is important to look for signs. Did you know that at all beaches the tide (sea) can come in and out and that you should only swim in the sea when there is an adult around? We made some posters to warn others to stay safe. 

The Naughty Bus falls in the pond during one of his adventures. We made some frogs to keep him company! We cut out different shapes to create a frog picture. It was quite tricky and we had to be persevering penguins!

We have been finding out all about landmarks. Did you know that a landmark is a building, area or sculpture that helps easily identify a place? We have been looking at landmarks of both London and Liverpool. Initially we all drew our own landmarks of both London and Liverpool. We also made them using blocks.

This half term we have been exploring shapes! We matched some real shapes to names of shapes. We have made some 2D shape pictures and created some 3D models.

This half term we have been finding different ways to make 5. We have sang some songs all about number 5... e.g. 5 little speckled frogs, used Numicon to represent some number equations and we have recorded some of our ideas for making 5 on Seesaw.

This year for Children's Mental Health Week we have been exploring the new theme 'Growing Together'. During the assembly we looked at the inside of a tree trunk and how the rings represent each year of growth. We talked about how some years trees have a difficult time growing, making it more difficult to see clear growth. Just like trees and plants need support to help them grow, we need support to help us grow emotionally. We need our parents, teachers, friends etc to help us to keep going, and to try doing things a bit differently. This helps us to look after our mental health.

We then made tickets that children could purchase from the bus driver. We even wrote down some places the bus might stop. We also had a role play bus inside too!

We discussed which buildings we were going to draw first and then drew them. We then all helped to colour wash the background. We hope you like them. We used pencil lines to form shapes to represent the different London buildings. 

We have been exploring technology. We programmed Beebots to move around different landmarks of London.

Jesus nearly fell in the water because the crowds were trying to push him and Simon was doing his fishing net but had no fish and Jesus said “try again” and he caught loads of fish. Scarlett&#160;

We talked about special people in our lives and which family and friends are special and why. We found out that Jesus had friends called disciples and learnt the story about the First Disciple. We used the pictures below to help us tell the story.

We have been representing numbers 1-5 in different ways. We matched our Numberblock to the missing Numberlie (the way that the number is written down). 

We have been reading the book 'You Can't Take an Elephant on the Bus.' We discussed how each verse within the book is like a poem. We created our own verse for the story including a pig who travelled on a two- wheeled bike!

With the change in season to Winter during our Christmas holidays, we revisited our class tree to observe the changes. Whilst we were out we also experienced Winter weather with a little hail storm. We tried to catch the ice but they melted very quickly. We worked out it was because our hands were warm.

It is water just frozen into tiny balls. We get hail at winter. -Owen-

Once we had created our own landscapes. We used our new knowledge of London and Liverpool to create two collaborative pieces. We created London Landscapes by drawing one building each.

After observing the hail, we discussed a little more about Winter weather. How it was cold, dark and we could get snow. The children had never experienced snow and we watched a video of the snow fall. We decided to make snow flakes for the class.

We have been learning how to keep safe on the internet. We have learnt about Smartie's rules for keeping safe on the internet and know that if something pops up online that you tell a grown up.&nbsp;We made some posters to share with our friends at home.

As part of our homework we were asked to go on a bus, even if it was for just one stop! We then made our own bus in our Outdoor Learning Garden! 

Can you see all the parts? Seats for the passengers, bell to get off and even a steering wheel for the bus driver.

We have been creating buses using lots of models. We thought about what we needed to do to make them better!

We read the story 'The Great Race' and found out that this year was the Year of the Tiger. We also read the story 'Cleversticks'. Ling Sung doesn't like school as the other children can do things that he can’t. But Ling Sung soon finds out that there is something very special that only he can do… use chopsticks! We had a go at using chopsticks.
