What a fantastic way to kick off our half term!

We all came to school dressed as a character from a traditional tale. We talked about the difference between traditional tales and the newer stories that we like to read today. Can you guess which tales we are from?

Music- A Tale From Long Ago
In Music, we listened to the story of 'The Helpful Elves'. In the story the shoemaker was very poor and only had enough money to make one more pair of shoes. In the night some elves visited and made the shoes for the shoemaker. He was able to sell them the very next day gaining enough money to make 2 pairs of shoes. The following night the same thing happened, the elves returned and made 2 more pairs of shoes. The shoemaker was no longer poor!
We have been learning some songs linked to this story!

Religious Education- Which stories are special and why?
We have looked at a range of different Christian symbols and bibles. Mrs. Gilroy showed us her gold cross that was bought for her when she was confirmed.

We talked about how Christians believe in God and that the place they may visit to talk to God is called a church. We talked about why bibles are special.
Bibles are special because... Christians keep their stories in them.
Jasmine
