The Rainbow Room
We have a special place in our school that we can visit if we have a problem. It is called the Rainbow Room. Mrs. Boardman came to talk to us to remind us about where it is and what it is for. We then went for a little visit so that we knew exactly where it was in school.
I am Mrs Boardman, I have a teddy to help with worries

RE: What people are special and why?
We were given a 'special' box. We were not sure what was inside... we made lots of different predictions. We found out that we are special! We wrote about why we think we are special in our books!
We are all good at different things. I am good at gymnastics.

Healthy or Unhealthy?
We looked at all the different foods that the 'Very Hungry Caterpillar' ate. We sorted the foods into healthy or unhealthy foods and gave reasons for our decisions.
If you eat healthy food you grow up big and strong!

Making a healthy sandwich
design
Isabelle 'Can we have spring onions?'
Speech Bubble
We designed a healthy sandwich for 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. We discussed what fillings we could put in it. We discussed how 'best of both' bread is better than white bread as it contains wholemeal and white flour.
We also discussed how too much salt can be bad for you.
Emily T 'Can we have some red peppers?'
Speech Bubble
ingredients
We decided that ham, cheese and tuna were healthy options. Some of the children suggested extra fillings which we added to the shopping list too!
Making a healthy sandwich
First we spread the butter onto the bread.
