OliverOur Class Tree
Each class a tree which we will observe over the seasons of Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. The type of tree we have in Class 3 is a 'Horse Chestnut'. We have been outside and observed how our tree has branches, a trunk and leaves. As the season is now Autumn we know that the leaves are changing colour and beginning to fall off because the weather has become colder and there is not as much sunlight.

Green's greens
The Green dilemma drop told us a story all about food and how some foods are better for us and give us energy. The class then shared their ideas about what food is healthy and which foods are unhealthy.
We talked about how some foods have lots of sugar which is not good for you and some foods like vegetables can be eaten more often.
Keeping Safe and Healthy
We have been learning all about ways to keep healthy, including cleaning our teeth and washing our hands. We watched a short clip from our fabulous NHS which showed us how to wash our hands correctly. We enjoyed learning the handwashing song! Here are some of our answers to the question 'why is it important to wash your hands?'.
Remembrance Day
We read a powerpoint which told us all about Remembrance Day and why we wear poppies. The children then worked with their Talking Partner to remember 3 facts about why it is such an important day. They then shared their facts with the class using full sentences and a loud, clear voice.
Diwali
As part of our curriculum, we looked at different cultures and celebrations. We discovered Diwali and how it is also known as 'The Festival of Lights'. We watched a video which showed us how a family celebrates Diwali and the different traditions they have.
